  1. I really liked King Kong despite the bloat. (1933 was obviously much better) However Godzilla 2014 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Jacksons King Kong
  2. What I am wondering is, are they redoing the King Kong story or are they doing a new story?
  3. Kind of, but obviously it isn't SHIELD anymore. Maybe they could throw in a Hulk cameo too.
  4. Maybe they could do a Black Widow, Hawkeye, Fury, etc. team up movie? Just put Widow front and center.
  5. I expect Lucy to collapse next weekend though given WoM and direct competition with Guardians.
  6. Out, I think both will hit 200m though
  7. 1.Boyhood2.Interstellar3.Guardians of the Galaxy4.Gone Girl5.Fury6.Unbroken7.The Hunger Games: Mockingjay8.Big Hero 69.The Avengers: Age of Ultron10.Inside Out
  8. I'm really surprised with Hercules, I thought it was going to outright bomb. That Friday number is almost as much as I had for its weekend.Props to The Rock.Speaking of rocks, both of these movies will drop like them after Guardians opens next week.
  9. I'm not entirely sure, Hercules will skew younger which means more frontloaded typically. Lucy will win the weekend, Hercules might not bomb as hard as I thought.
  10. In order to get more lists, I will open this up to book adaptions on one condition, The book must not be a franchise book. (No hunger games, harry potter, lotr, etc.)
  11. The final 15 minutes of Tasm2?? What was so special about that, the final 15 minutes of Godzilla were much stronger (in fact its last act was phenomenal and some of the best film this year).Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone are the only highlights of tasm2, the script is abysmal, the visual effects (for a film that is mostly big scale action) and cgi are lackluster, and you feel no heartbreak with the cluttered ending.Godzilla is by far the better movie.
  12. Godzilla is leagues above Tasm2.Tasm2 was worse than MoS and that's saying something.
  13. Godzilla actually made a profit, that's what matters. (Even if a movie makes 1b dollars it can still lose money if the budgets around 450-500m for example.)That's why TFiOS was actually the most profitable movie of this summer, which makes it one of the biggest successes of the summer.Sure 700m is more impressive than 550m, but a studio would rather have a 550m movie make a profit than a 700m movie that loses money.
  14. http://boxofficemojo.com/showdowns/chart/?view=weekend&id=2014openers.htm Godzilla is slowly gaining back on Spidey, maybe it could pass it?
  15. It frustrates me Purge missed 30m by .2m, I had a bet it'd hit 30m
  16. I'll add if a movie made 500m World Wide but not 200m Domestic it'll count as a blockbuster.
  17. Gnomeo and Juliet's number is more frustrating than Hercules which also finished at 99m.I won't criticize studios for pushing films over because 99 is an ugly number.
