I wanted 16 for MJ1! Oh well, hopefully we get some decent holds this weekend. And those numbers are pretty awful for Horrible Bosses 2 and Penguins. Those pebbles really must have a poor exchange rate.
I wonder when the boxoffice will rebound... My guess is February when 50 Shades of Grey is released.
I'm thinking $22M for Dracula 3-day weekend. Not too shabby but ultimately around what I expected. Happy for Gone Girl! Deserves all the success it gets. I loved GG! Maze Runner and Equalizer should both cross $100m dom which is awesome. I think I was in the minority that liked Annabelle so I hope it can have some decent legs. $100m isn't out of the question yet if it can muster $16.25m this weekend.
I'm guessing either a December 9th or 21st release date. That way it would either open a week before the Star Wars spinoff or compete against the Illumination film and the SW spinoff's 2nd weekend. But I'm sure it can go wherever it wants the the other films will back off and move.
Kind of a cool modern trailer for Mighty Morphin Power Rangers featuring the X-Men: DOFP music. https://www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&persist_app=1&v=3xDGfp8HSYA
He seems too old to me to be playing a high school student. Especially since filming won't start for nearly a year from now. But I guess he is only supposed to be 18/19 years old in MJ. And if Andrew Garfield can play a highschool student in ASM1, I suppose Liam can as well.
True dat! Still interested either way to see who they get. They will probably try to get at least one or two somewhat recognizable stars for the main 5.
I don't like these GotG numbers. An estimated $21m does not compare favorably to my aforementioned goal of $27m. I'm hoping this 6-7 range improves to 7-8 and it ends up with 8.
If GOTG makes $27m+ this weekend, I feel fairly confident it could cross $300m. Which would be awesome! It deserves it and at least one movie from this summer would be able to cross it.
I'm under the impression they are going pg-13 and going more so for the Spider-man / Transformers type crowd. Family friendly but also up to 20 something skewed.
