  5. Playmobil is a series of minifigures produced in Germany since mid 70s as response to oil crisis (smaller toys = less plastic to use) that became a pop culture phenomenon (in Europe) until the mid-1990s. Later it was unable to evolve and gradually lost market share.
  6. As you can see below, F1 had biggest Weekend/Weekdays/Week in 8th and weekdays way bigger than Weekend (sometimes +200% ), so it's impossible to compare it not only with F2, but with any other movie in the present, past and, I think, future. 8. My god at L'Immortale! Who would have thought? It's part of the "universe" of Gomorra, the most internationally acclaimed italian product since La Piovra. I hope will get a foreign release. And my god at Frozen, too, but in a totally different way. High 40's drop from Wednesday, and 45%+ drop from last Thursday. Its dailies have been worryingly close to Dory's, not a good sign at all. As for last week, no words until Sunday. By the way, I don't think Frozen and L'immortale have the same audience. In the other side, unfortunately this year the holiday of Dec 8 is Sunday, F2 will lose at least 1M of its potential gross.

  13. Cinetel revised first Week at 7.787 (8.611-429-395) with Sunday at 3.050 by now, but Disney says 7.248/8,060. (BOM has 8.044/8.939M$ officials 1,11 exchange rate). Minions are officially gone. https://www.boxofficemojo.com/weekend/2019W48/?area=IT&ref_=bo_rl_table_1 This happens because Cinetel in early 2019 have updated its way to collect data, but some small cinemas haven't yet switched to the new system so their numbers are added later and the sum of daily numbers is always lower than the total at the current day. This is especially seen when big numbers are in play as for Sunday. I also remember you that Cinetel covers only 93% of real seats and 95% of SIAE real gross.
  14. Minions was in summer, F2 can have a fell in W3/4, then a rise in W5/6/7 thanks to holiday (at least I hope).
  15. Statistically, I agree. Pratically, the 5-days start is irrelevant, unless day 1 or day 2 are holiday (or school-out for animation as for Minions) or the movies have very high "spoiler alert" level (as for Endgame). Anyone remember that until a few years ago movies were released on Friday here? We should also remove Thursday's gross to compare? By the way also Thursdays haven't a great impact to OW: according to Cinetel 2018 report, statistically this day is lower than Wednesday and similar to Tuesday in term of admissions and revenues. So I still think F2 had the better OW performance (not holidays, not school-out days) for animated since 2009 Ice Age 3 11M and count.
  16. Producers who lose money for first movie will not invest a cent for the sequel. Otherwise, nobody know the future. In 2014, Disney's and their partners lost tons of $$ by not having enough Frozen products to sell, because at the time no one have faith in that brand (two princesses and zero prince charming? what hell!). Unfortunately I was in that list.
  17. A Disney movie getting a sequel will require .... that licensing partners are willing to manufacture related products and advertise them at their own expense, thus also contributing to the budget for production and marketing of the movie (for Frozen I think Hasbro&Lego are enough to cover the entire budget...😁). In the case of Zootopia, whose merchandise sales for first movie are below zero because the revenues were lower than the production costs, no one would spend a cent. In the Pixar side, not by chance we have 3 Cars (+ 2 Planes) and 4 Toy Story: they are their higher selling brands.

  21. The Frozen 2 blizzard continued at the global and international box office this weekend with the Disney sequel now minting $738.6M worldwide and $451M overseas through Sunday. The offshore hold was -38 for a $163.8M weekend, and Elsa continued her No. 1 reign in 45 open markets. This comes after a record-setting global debut last weekend and with new bows in Russia, Italy and Australia, including setting the highest animated weekend of all time in the former at $13.7M. To date, F2 has become the highest grossing animated title ever in Indonesia and the Philippines.
