  1. WOW 😮...talk about earning your R rating...that was the most violent, graphic third act that I can remember in quite some time-and that includes horror films 🙂.
  2. The movie was excellently paced, with a ! I enjoyed it more than Interstellar(bizarre) and Gravity (just the earth's orbit).
  3. I dunno 🙂...I dunno 🙂...what some of the critics were saying...I have this slightly ABOVE Gravity and Interstellar... No, it wasnt "slow". EndGame, at almost 180 minutes of mostly "acting" scenes, was slow 🙂. At just over 120 minutes, Ad Astra didnt have enough runtime to be slow. It was excellently paced, with a few action scenes. The so-called "slow" part...knowing the vast distances in space, I was wondering how the slow part was a brief as it was 🙂.
  4. Trailers about to begin...I've already been informed that it's closer to Interstellar (which was a little out there) than Gravity (thrilling). So I basically know what this is.
  5. Looking forward to this, Sunday afternoon. I liked Gravity, Interstellar was strange 🙂...but I feel I will really enjoy this one.
  6. Little condescending, but okay 🙂. It doesnt happen often in movies...let me spell this out...a teen is not a kid. A young adult is not a kid. That's not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about an actual KID. The worst thing that happens to them is POSSESSION. They aren't GRAPHICALLY murdered. A recent example was the Halloween movie. Micheal kills the babysitter, the kid ran away...Michael approaches and actual BABY in a crib, and thinks for a second, then WALKS WAY. I forget the name of the recent movie...the kid is possessed by a serial killer. The mother is about to shoot and kill him. SHE's shot and killed by a police officer, the possesed kid lives. The Sinister movies may have had something, I didnt see the first one. Give me some recent examples of KIDS being brutally dismembered and killed. They're used as tools to frighten the audience.
  7. One negative was the overuse of the "undead zombie". When you saw the first one, it was a scare. It kept getting used, then it became a joke 🙂. Also the fact that it was used a lot in del Toro's Scary Movies to Tell in the Dark. The violent deaths of defenseless 7-8 year olds...that's a disturbing staple of this two parter 🙂...maybe they coulda bumped the age up a little, to the teens?
  8. Everyone seems to have missed the Freddy Kruger shared universe tease at the end 🙂?! The Stephen King cameo is gonna drive his fanboys nuts, but if you've seen Stan Lee cameo in every MCU movie, that was...just there. The major surprise was the shared universe tease...it could be a way to launch another Nightmare on Elms Street franchise, or a Freddy/IT one off. It also could be just nothing 🙂. It would be strange for them to put that there, just to put it there... The two villains basically have the same powers, messing with people's heads. But IT can do it without his victim being asleep in a dream state 🙂. It would be interesting to see the two join forces, and eventually clash!
  9. Um, are we uh, talking about the same easter egg/cameo? The uh is what I'm referring to...I 😳 when it appeared on the left of the screen.
  10. People were saying overlong...first 40 minutes....I wasnt feeling that. I felt that the first hour was necessary (also funny) in that the crew had to be re-assembled. Think of it like a Purge movie, where the individual stories intersect. EndGame is what I call too long. It had that sleep inducing brooding period, and Cap and Iron Man's dull time traveling segments (Thor, Black Widow, and War Machine's were okay). Here, the gathering was funny and entertaining enough to not drag.
  11. When is the spoiler thread going up? Or can I do the spoiler tage here?! Theres a couple things here-including a HUGE easter egg- that I'd like to discuss!
  12. 169 minutes?! I'm seeing it Saturday, so I went to check the runtime. With 17 minutes of trailers, that's 3-hours. Get there early 🙂. It's either a very thrilling movie, in which it wont seem like almost 3 hours, or there's some slow spots...depending on what the director had in mind.
  13. It was clearly intended to be HIS movie 😂...if there was gonna be any hero left standing at the end, it was gonna be just him 😂
  14. Jada Pinkett Smith either got a monetary amount that she couldn't refuse, or her ego may not be as huge as I thought it would be 🙂. Married to one of the (formerly)biggest actors in hollywood. Very picky and particular guy too. The way she exited this movie 🙂...I imagined her vetoing that, and demanding a bigger, more heroic script 🙂. Dont want to spoil anything, but she was...discarded...like a $60,000 earning D-lister 🙂... Anyways it was what it was...a testosterone fueled (you stay home and raise the kid 😂!) bullet flying actioner. Good villain. By the 6000th fired bullet you begin to fatigue, but worth a look.
  15. I'm torn about this Spidey thing...Spidey is no longer in the MCU. However, both the MCU/SONY films, especially the recent one, were Iron Man films without Iron Man 🙂. I'd like to see what they can do with a real Spider-Man movie going forward.
  16. Tyrese is the one talking, but assure you, there are others among the F&F regulars, who feel the same way. Notice no one is stepping up to side with The Rock against Tyrese? There was a half hearted statement from Vin...other than that there's crickets 🙂... But the regulars, that were there from the start, are unified in staying together. Tyrese is taking the role as the mouthpiece.
  17. The Rock is a moral victory type of guy 😂. H&S is the highest domestic opening OTHER then Disney or Marvel this year. That's like saying The Warriors would be world champs, if The Raptors weren't there 😂. The Raptors ARE here, and they ARE the champs! H&S catching dust! The highest audience rating of all the F&F movies...we all know what the REAL approval metric is 😂...$$$...and H&S is coming up 3rd or 4th! It's the tactic of creating a worthless "sub catagory", to proclaim yourself the greatest 😂😂
  18. Where's the gay porn scene? I know it's there, he likes this 🙂...he's got some a-listers with the power to veto, the only thing that could have stopped this 🙂...
  19. Natalie Portman as lady Thor...how will they make this work...Portman is, how can put this, "vertically challenged" 🙂. She's not the most physically intimidating, so her casting as an astrophysicist was perfect. Lady Thor in the comics suggested someone a little more statuesque, like a Charlize Theron or Cate Blanchett. Or even the Sif actress, Jaimie Alexander! Tessa Thompson has height issues as well 🙂. But they sorta made that work...
  20. Jake Gyllenhaal's ra-ra speech to his underlings at the bar, was all that was needed, to cement his place as the new #1 villain of 2019 😂😂 Then he goes on to "direct" his show, ordering his underlings to produce only the greatest performance, to leave no doubt that he is the new hero of the people 😂😂
  21. I think this film is being underestimated. It won't do The Meg numbers of course, but it will surprise the analysts.
