Haven't been to the theater in a couple weeks, since Halloween. Not much to see. I was thinking about First Man, but that never happened. Waiting for Overlord, in about 15 minutes. Dont really trust Girl in the Spider Web.

Weekend Prediction thread 5/10-5/12 Play the Derby

Phew...what is this, the 5th or 6th bomb for Hemsworth, outside of the mcu? Dude, sign that Thor extension 🤣 -
"WE can do whatever WE want" 🤣 Weird, two movies can come out not too far from each other, and be so similar...its as if someone worked on one film while spying on the other, and liked the idea and "borrowed" it 🙂. Venom is UPGRADE, from earlier this year?! Instead of a computer chip talking to the guy in his head, and assisting him in giving beat downs to foes, it's the Symbiote! Captain Marvel is appearing to be Man of Steel 🤣! The hero arrives first, followed by the enemies! Anyway, Tom Hardy will have you in STITCHES, when he's struggling with the changes the Symbiote is doing to his mind and body 🤣🤣. It didnt deserve the total thrashing it got from reviewers (#me too inspired, to help A Star is Born?), and I'm glad it still opened to 80M.

Smart move by Feige. Leave Guardians 3 in limbo for a while, let cooler heads prevail. Smh...we all know what was going to happen. The new director would be the whipping boy for the Gunn fans angry over the firing. Marvel likes to bring in indie film directors, giving them a shot at a blockbuster, and it would be unfair to them to be put in that spot. Possible mailed in performances from the actors, in support of Gunn. There may even be an attempted boycott. I say quietly cancel it, and avoid an ugly situation, but Feige's got balls. Theres ways to cancel it without officially canceling it 🙂. Well, you keep pushing production back. Then, Variety has a footnote on a new article, that it was canceled 🙂.

After streaming and blu ray markets, its gonna get a lot of cable action. Animal Planet, SyFy, Turner Networks, USA, etc. People brought their kids, and they loved the wolf. The advertising for the film didnt help. It was portrayed as a joyous buddy movie. That song, they're playing in the water...instead on the grim survival adventure film that it actually was.

Best movie I've seen all year, maybe a couple years. Infinity War, Deadpool, that stuff...I'm not watching that for an oscar worthy experience 🙂. The 96 minute run time told me it was going to feel brief, and that was my only gripe. But it was beautifully shot, and they built an emotional bond, in a survival adventure. I didnt have time to go to the larger AMC, so I had to settle for a standard 3D viewing at the smaller location. So I feel like I didnt see it in the right format. The IMAX screen oddly went to Mile 22 at this location... I'm gonna see it again, in the IMAX format.

Bautista...stone cold idiot...sick tweets, pictures surface...guy's a closet pedo...say your piece, respectfully disagree, like your co-workers, and move on. Is this creep worth your big budget career?! He's done with Disney...done. Any entity associated with Disney. A dime a dozen muscle head actor, they'll drop him like a bad habit. He obviously doesn't have a publicist/agent, they 'd be like dude, you're protesting over a freakin' pedo! Hell be on the sci fi channel movie of the week if he keeps this up.

Strange...the smaller AMC has Mile 22 as the IMAX movie, and Alpha as the standard. Alpha is type of adventure film that belongs on IMAX, while Mile 22 is a popcorn shoot-em-up. The larger AMC has it right...Alpha is the IMAX 3D feature, and Mile 22 got the standards. I'll figure out what I'm gonna do...the distant AMC has the right formats...

Not a priority to me either...after watching the glitzy, big budget, special effects of movies, the tv shows are...rather bland. Due to budgets, the tv shows are more grounded and...ordinary. Agent Carter was just a time piece show. Agents of SHIELD had some supernatural elements, but at its core, it was a super powerless agent show. ZZZZZ The Netflix shows are grounded... That's why I was very interested in Inhumans! These were actual superhuman beings, and the effects were cable grade! It's funny that, when Marvel Studios first started the MCU, they used green screen post production CGI, but everything else was almost TV level. Costumes, paint only, avoid effects heavy characters, or diminish their look...they'd spend money on the big Avengers blockbusters, but solos I'm talking about here. Scaled back.... That's not the case today, and while Marvel Studios is not quite at the effects level of other blockbuster studios, they've certainly become much better than their tv counterparts.

Any new director Marvel brings in, to polish Guardians 3, will be met with an unfair and classless attack from Gunn fanboys. We all see this coming a mile away. Theres ONE way Marvel can avoid this though 🙂. Within Marvel Studios are people that would be IMMUNE to any kind of Gunn fan backlash. Feige can avoid the trouble, by giving Guardians 3 to...GOD 🙂. AKA the RUSSOS. One, or both. They are the closest thing to god, among the Marvel fanbase. They will be so conflicted, and wont badmouth or boycott. Dont put Waititi in this...did a wonderful job with Thor 3. He doesn't deserve to be the scapegoat pinata, over Gunn's firing.

I see movies like Alpha (and Revenant) more for the cinematography than the actual story 🙂. They're like big budget Nat Geo specials, with a plot. I'm interested in Mile 22, just for some dumb popcorn action. Not too interested in Crazy Rich Asians...Ken Jeong doesn't do it for me, too over the top.
