  1. Django and Hateful Eight had a male gay porn vibe in some scenes...I wondered, is this a thing with this guy? Researched his past movies, it IS a thing with this guy... Not my cup of tea...there's a scene in the trailer, with Leonardo and Brad, that heavily suggests that Tarantino is doing that again.
  2. 😂...Charlize Theron's "Cipher", the co-villain of 2017 (Hela, Captain Salazar), is returning, huh huh huh 😂...
  3. Gonna see it again in what I believe is the proper format for those amazing illusion sequences, 3D. I'll have to sit through the first 75% of the movie...a Tom Holland comedy, with no sign of Spider-Man...😴...before Jake Gyllenhaal's Mysterio becomes unhinged, and saves the entire movie. Oh, shoot, AMC...the nearby theater has only two 3D showings, the first at 3:45PM (add 17 minutes for previews, to 4:02PM), a lot later than I wanted. OT Sunday Morning. I'd get out the theater around 6:15... It's the bigger AMC further away, that is playing the 3Ds throughout the day, starting at 10AM. Freak it, I'll have to do that 3:45PM, quickly get back home, prepare for tomorrow morning, and most importantly sleep 🙂. ...know what? Now I'm thinking about getting up early enough to make one of the early 3Ds at the large AMC 🙂. I'm gonna do that. The smaller AMC has been messing up, not having the cheddar gourmet popcorn, to mix with the caramel 🙂. The seats are better there too. Then I can get home early, relax, and not have to rush to get everything done, so I can get enough sleep. I'd be ready to go to sleep too, after getting up early 🙂!
  4. Pass... Tarantino...has a fetish for...gay porn...and likes to shove in your face in his movies. There's a scene in the trailer, involving DiCaprio and his stunt double Pitt, and the dialogue suggested there will be another one of these cringey, distasteful scenes. If it's two hot women making out, I,'m all for that 🙂. He prefers the, uh, other kind of...so, I'm not interested...
  5. 2019 villain list, through early July 1. *new*Jake Gyllenhaal's Mysterio (Spider-Man: Far From Home) 😂 Runner Up: King Ghidorah (Godzilla 2) 😂 3. Samuel L Jackson's Mr Glass (Glass) 4. Thanos (Avengers: Endgame) 5. Chucky (Child's Play 2019) 6. Ma (Ma) 7. Rodan (Godzilla 2)
  6. One more movie? You figured that out, after the mid-credits scene 🙂? Anyway, at the time I arrived at the theater, standard version was the only one early enough to see. I want to see it again in 3D, for the illusion sequences. A Spider-Man movie without Spider-Man actually in it 🙂...sucks, but Jake Gyllenhaal's Mysterio is so great, which will allow me to sit through this Tom Holland comedy again, to get to the wonderful illusion scenes. Also, the way they tied this in to Infinity War and Captain Marvel was weird...they made the assumption that you already saw those two films. They show footage of the students turning into dust, calling it the "blip" or something, yet no mention is made of Thanos. If this is your first MCU movie, someone has to explain to you what this blip is all about. Secondly, they never explain who the Skrulls are...its assumed that you saw Captain Marvel...
  7. Good and bad... The good first. Sony, not Marvel/Disney, may have created (and killed off) the greatest villain ever in the MCU, including Thanos-Jake Gyllenhaal's Mysterio 😂. Knocks off King Ghidorah for the current 2019 villain of the year. If you've seen Gyllenhaal's freelance photographer in Nightcrawler, it was no doubt he'd be a great unhinged villain 😂. When Spider-Man first battles Mysterio, its an AWESOME effects sequence, casting doubt on what's real and what isnt 😂 From that point on, the producers play mind games with the audience. Can this guy be trusted, or is this a Mysterio illusion? The bad...Marvel Studios gets off on making 99% of the movie about the actor, and only 1% the costumed superhero, that you're in the theater to see...and their influence is here clearly. It's a Tom Holland movie, with merely a cameo from the BILLION dollar merchandise moving iconic red suit! I dont get why Marvel Studios does this...dont they think the kids coming to the movie are there to actually SEE Spider-Man? Are they trying to sell the movie to audiences outside the fanbase that is getting them a billion per movie?! Are they trying to sell the movie to critics and the oscar committee, so they limit the superhero in spandex? It's like they embarrassed to make it a superhero movie! There's an initial battle with the water monster. Tom Holland fights that entire thing as TOM HOLLAND, not Spider-Man. He's in street clothes firing the web slingers. Marvel Studios loves doing this! The guys are in street clothes, unmasked... Theres another fight with the fire beast. Okay, he's in a get up, but it's still NOT the merchandise moving red suit! It's a black ninja outfit! He confronts Mysterio, and he's STILL not in the suit! It's still the ninja thing! Whoa finally the red suit appears, but it's only part of that INCREDIBLE illusion sequence I mentioned earlier! It wasn't real! Finally...the last 1% of the movie, they decide, hey why dont we put Holland in that red suit that's making Marvel more money than every superhero, including DC's, combined 😂! If you're a Tom Holland fan, well, you'll love this movie! If you're a spider-man fan...red/blue suit, white eyes lenses-I'm preparing you for a massive disappointment! That being said, Jake Gyllenhaal's Mysterio still saves the movie, as the new #1 villain of 2019 so far! Grade? Gyllenhaal, and a great illusion scene brings it up to B+. If he's not in the movie, C+!
  8. It's pretty obvious why the opening underperformed. The last sequel was 9 years ago...today, the target audience is not so much interested in action figures, as they are cellphones, gadgets, wireless headphones and game consoles. Call of Duty, blowing someone to pieces. Movie is like a relic from the past.
  9. Dude, you're asking for logic in a Hollywood production 😂? I just watched John Wick single handedly mow down armies of trained killers, bullets ricocheting all over the place, and not suffer ONE gunshot wound 😂. The baddies are trained weapons guys, but somehow all 800 of them aren't as good at hitting the target as John Wick is 😂.
  10. Saw it again, matinee before Men in Black International. The screaming people when Rodan introduces himself out of the volcano 😂😂. The hurricane effect when it took flight was awesome. Which lead to another memorable scene, the high speed air battle with Rodan and the fighter jets. The whole Rodan awakening in Mexico was the second best part of the movie, behind the Godzilla-Ghidora trilogy of fights. They did some nice work on Ghidorah's three heads acting independently 😂
  11. Well ya take half a decade, and let audiences think about not seeing Godzilla, in the Godzilla film in 2014...the ship has already sailed. KOTM is actually a good movie, so maybe they have awoken the audience from their long, 5-year slumber. Maybe Godzilla vs Kong does decent numbers.
  12. I went on a one-man campaign to have Legendary Pictures do Thor 3 😂. It was because this dev house is a phantasy/sci fi fan's dream 😂! They are CGI friendly! Marvel will unleash the CGI aces on the big Avengers productions, every three years, but they take vacations on the solo films in between... The CGI in the solo films is kept to post production backgrounds and inanimate objects (spaceships). The characters themselves are mostly kept to costumed people in makeup. Any character from the comics that took too much CGI to produce, was either side stepped, or reduced to costumed people. You know, things you'd normally expect from a tv or straight to cable budgeted production. You're wondering, where is this guy or that guy? As a result, we have a Thor trilogy with no sign of the Midgard Serpent, Ulik, Mangog, etc, and were not the epic films they could have been. The last movie, and they bring in the CGI guys to do Surtur... Iron Man and Cap were Feige's darlings. He could never figure out that though he could keep THOSE two franchises grounded to makeup and costumes, a Thor film is another animal entirely! Thor would be a fantasy/sci-fi film, in which CGI beings are a MUST! Anyway, Legendary is the opposite of Marvel 🙂. They will put any monster, beast, mutant and creature on that screen 😂. If they'd have gotten a hold on the Thor franchise from.the start...
  13. I loved it. Godzilla-Ghidorah fight in act one, a rematch in act two, the rubber match in act three 🙂. Rodan, Mothra, a giant mammoth...Kyle Chandler's know-it-all straight man was getting old quick though 🙂. Cant wait for it on 3D Blu. However, when I look at the mediocre box office returns, two things come to mind: 1. The FIVE year wait. I think it was on this very forum, back in 2014, where I was shocked at the 2019 release date of this sequel! I knew it would cost them. Gross miscalculation by WB. You simply cannot wait that long, audiences are too fickle, for such a lengthy wait. Strike when the iron is hot. 2-3 year maximum. Heck this slot should have already been Godzilla-Kong! Director was tied up, some BS...bleep a director! Get another one! Marvel put Thor 3 back 4 years...the edge of the danger zone, and it didnt kill the franchise, but Marvel is Marvel! I bet the Avatar sequels wont make nearly as much as the original, because Cameron took a century 😂! 2. In 2014, Gareth Edward's vision of a Godzilla movie, with very little of Godzilla actually in it 😂...was not well received, and that likely killed some momentum. Those were the two main factors I believe. They're worried about Godzilla-Kong now, moving it around. IMO, they already blew it, long before King of the Monsters, with the half-decade wait... Might as well just DO it, and the box office is gonna be what it is...sometimes you get lucky.
  14. I saw it Thursday. The thing that got me is, the movie is non-stop violence and killing in NYC. Where the heck is
  15. I was watching the "Ma" movie a couple days ago. I was set to anoint Octavia Spencer's Ma the new #1 villain of 2019 😂. I dunno, then the ending of the movie happened, and it was just...too bizarre, and a little on the heavy side. As you know, I like my villains a combination of psychosis, violence, megalomania, eccentric, and, you know, comedic 😂. Ma's motivation, was a little too much on the dark and heavy side. If they would have kept it like, she was an outcast out for revenge 😂...crappy job at the animal clinic, with the a-hole boss 😂... So, I'm gonna stick with Samuel L Jackson's Mr Glass at #1 😂...Thanos as runner-up, and we'll see what the rest of the year brings.
  16. Heres where the Marvel Studios fanatics, which includes reviewers, can suck. I just saw it, and it was nowhere near as bad as the fanatics are claiming. Chastain (and the black guy 😂) is a great villain, and they did an awesome job of showing just how powerful Phoenix Force Jean is. The other X-Men, including Xavier and Magneto, were insects to her. You see, the Marvel Studios fanatics are eager to shovel the last pile of dirt on the grave of FOX X-Men. Because it's now gonna be in the trusted hands, of the guys that had an unhelmeted Cap brush off a punch to the head, from a being that had just pummeled Hulk like a walk in the park 😂.
  17. The power of Disney...Godzilla is obviously the perfect type of movie to go on the IMAX screens. The shutout was on, because of Aladin... Anyway, if your expectations were monster fights, and buildings reduced to rubble, instead of an Oscar contender, you will be VERY satisfied with this movie 😂. You will get exhausted from the non-stop destruction. Godzilla is still not in the movie enough, but way more than the riginal movie. What was with the after credits?! You have to tease KONG! You have to set this collision course up ☺️! The terrorist guy finds a King Ghidorah head, that's it? Unless this is some (genetic) explanation as to how Kong will be a physical match for Godzilla, that was a weak tease!
  18. Former Sega phanatic here...like...that's...not Sonic...the proportions are wrong... The real Sonic's head is huge, and makes up like 50% of his body. Then you have a little torso, with arms and legs. All his friends are shaped that way too. This Sonic, in this movie, has a perfectly proportioned, human-like body 🤔. They added a foot to his torso and limbs, so he looks more human... Eggman isnt rotund, he's 99 pounds...I dont know about this... The CGI graphics look great though! But this Sonic re-imagining is likely not gonna go over well...
