Congratulations to Monster Hunt. At least the crown finally returned to a domestic film (rare in these Hollywood-dominated times). As for FF7 fans, just accept it. Comparison is not apples-to-apples but who will care 2 years from now? Apart from a few on this blog, no one.
By the way, I finally managed to see IO a week ago and boy was it good. It's as much a comedy as it is a drama but it never stopped being genuine. I can't say I loved it as much as other Pixar efforts like Up and Toy Story 2/3 bu it is still one of the best animated films of all time.
Weekend tally is $6M. 34% drop from last weekend. At this pace I think it can earn $410M w/o Italy, Germany and China. $500M is getting likelier every weekend.
