  1. from the director of that shite Northern Lights adaptation and one of the Twilight movies...? How likely do you think Oscar chances are?
  2. Must have been a great year for women if the best performances include superhero movies... out of those Ive only seen Wonder Woman and Thor. And no both those in Thor were crap. Gal Gadot was okay? She has nice legs.. ? shape of water and I Tonya aren't out for a few weeks so cant comment on those, though I'm looking forward to them. same goes for Lady Bird before you jump on that one
  3. is there an ombudsman we can take this to if we're still not happy with the Committee's actions?
  4. Maybe just nobody wants to watch this film? its not like the guy's previous movie (to which this is a spiritual successor) was a smash hit either.
  5. haven't seen the other two, but recommend Hostiles.
  6. Hmm.... something looks suspicious here.... Show Dogs Theatrical release poster Directed by Raja Gosnell Produced by Max Botkin Nik Bower Raja Gosnell Chris Harvey Scott Lambert Deepak Nayar Tom Ortenberg Paul Sarony Philip von Alvensleben
  7. oh forgot it was super bowl weekend. that's why theres only one film out. yeah that solidifies my position. Insidious 3 (4?) opened a couple weeks ago to 30M.
  8. Can't see who it appeals to. Helen Mirren fans don't want to see a horror movie, and horror fans don't want to see Helen Mirren. The audiences will cancel each other out rather than combining/crossing over. it's not getting a massive release which suggests they're not expecting it to do much business. also it's produced by CBS Films who apparently have made 7 films, all of which bombed.
  9. wait theres like nothing releasing next weekend, why can't it move back to #3? Helen Mirren horror film is not going to make very much money.

  11. watched a 70mm print of Raiders a few years ago, the film had been completely discoloured and turned all red, it was 30 years old after all. very fuzzy, lots of marks on it. made me feel like I was actually in 1982. was very cool.
  12. Jurassic Park is good, but not Raiders-good.
  13. Well I've never really been a fan of Spielbergs dramas. I still contend that his best film is Duel. (hot take)
  14. Yeah agreed. But then that is always Spielberg's downfall, he CANNOT end a movie without making it happy clappy.
  15. I don't dislike spielberg's recent movies per se, but he hasn't made a properly good movie since War of the Worlds. that was 13 years ago...
  16. So youre saying that there is anyone under 50 who actually wanted to see The Post?
  17. would much rather have a film based on the Overlord game than another Cloverfield movie
  18. eh, doesn't make much sense to just have one genre separately. if you're gonna have best horror, should probably have best sci fi, best comedy, etc
