  1. Feel sorry for you ozzies and zealanders, you guys dont have Amazon. Apparently I only made my Amazon account in 2012. Guess I am not two centuries old like some other users on this thread.
  2. the whole film has one of those "gritty" instagram filters on it
  3. I thought exploitation meant a cheap genre movie.? i was referring to Duel and Jaws. Which along with Raiders are his best films.
  4. huh, completely forgot ready player one was a thing. and yeah I'm aware Indiana Jones 5 is coming soon.
  5. Wish Spielberg would just get back to making action movies and exploitation movies, he's so much better at that stuff. I thought I was just being biased because I love Bob Odenkirk, but yeah he's the best thing about it because he's the only main character not tied up by the shoddy hammy stuff.
  6. Don't go on a date to your workplace. Also if you see a movie, get dinner together before/after so that you can talk.
  7. @JJ-8 can I join? I have a question about the investing, so if a film has a 50M budget and you invest 100%, then you spend $50M of your money but you regain every $ that the film grosses? So the only films you should invest less than 100% in, are films you think will gross less than their production budget? Which is quite unusual for films. Even box office bombs usually have a WW gross that is higher than the production budget. Or is this domestic gross only?
  8. I enjoyed it more than I was expecting to, which is how I felt with both the previous movies. It is nothing groundbreaking and at this point it feels pretty well trodden ground. But this series has just done it slightly better than the others (divergent, hunger games, plus the other ones that bombed). I had forgotten everything from the previous film, had no idea why they had to rescue the Miho guy, and by the end of the film it wasn't much more clear. Can't remember why Kaya Scoledario left them to go with WCKD. Couldn't remember if most of the other supporting characters were even in the previous films at all. That being said I went along with it, and thought the deaths were done well. Action was really strong, it actually felt a little inventive compared to similar films. It's also nice to have a cohesive vision guiding us through the story - the same director and no splitting of films. It felt complete. Also why did Giancarlo Esposito look like Taika Waititi?
  9. bet you save more than that for your "bros", Mr Chalamaet lover.
  10. people used to say that about videotapes. you can run them back to front and you can the exact bit you want. but for the vast majority, digital is easier to use for the main purpose i.e. watching the video. or reading the text. Don't shoot me though, I dont read so have no ball in either ground.
  11. who the fuck has 50,000 images of ANYTHING on their computer? sad regardless.
  12. Just saw this, I enjoyed it. Gary Oldman is great and his version of Churchill is very watchable. In fact that's the movie summed up, watchable. It may not be accurate or complex or particularly well written but it is very watchable. Gets my approval.

  14. Just got my pay slip, and realised that since my last payday last month I have spent over a third of my wages on drugs. this is not good
  15. Can't take anyone seriously if their last name is Coon. you guys remember TheCoon? jeez.
  16. Huh, I swear I checked this the other day. Oh well. I guess Wes studi and Rosamund has to miss out then. Would have nominated the score and cinematography as well, oh and Bale for best actor maybe.
  17. Didn't like Meryl in the post. Can't remember Sienna Miller's performance in Lost City of Z though I loved the film. Don't really remember female character in BR2049. Didn't like anything in that film apart from the way it looked. Hostiles is 2018, wrong year. The rest of them I haven't seen. And Frances Mcdormand is who I was referring to when I said there's only been one good female performance. She is phenomenal and she deserves all the awards.
  18. its made $18M on a 3M budget, chill. people just don't go to the cinema to watch gay indie movies. that's all. sorry.
  19. okay now that you've added some more into your post @captainwondyful - Daisy Ridley was a lot better than she was in Force Awakens, but still really nothing special. a generic role in a star wars movie never gonna win me over for best actress nominations. Also Daisy looks like my ex so I don't feel happy when I watch her. Jessica Chastain was snoring her way through that boring Aaron Sorkin movie, so boring I actually can't remember what its called. I mean really lazy. she didn't have much to go on but still really didn't like her. Havent seen that lesbian assassin movie. Don't know what the bottom one is.
