    "as far as I can tell" - haven't seen Lady Bird, or Get Out, or I Tonya. And no, I wouldn't describe The Disaster Artist as a comedy, although it is very funny. Dramedy at most.

    best performances of the year are Sam Rockwell & Frances McDormand in Three Billboards James Franco as Emperor Wiseau Isabelle Huppert in Elle no one else really stood out for me. Coolio mentioned channing tatum, I actually loved everyone in that movie. Also obligatory annual mention of Andy Serkis as an ape.

    watched mcg's new film The Babysitter, it's on netflix. actually was good fun. well done mcg, only took 17 years to make a half decent film. not convinced about the main cast being like 16 or whatever they're meant to be... when they're all in their 20s. Maybe there just aren't enough teen actors in hollywood?

    yeah but if they spent a bunch of money advertising in China and it's a bomb then that is lost money. I'm sure they would like it to be as successful as for example their Avengers movies. Hell disneys CoCo made like $170M in China.

    Are you sure about that? Everyone else is managing to get their movies to work in China, and Disney can't get their biggest, flagship brand to be anything but a flop over there?

    I admit i have not seen Boogie Nights. The films of his that I have seen though have been super boring and pretentious. Also why are all his films 3 hours long? Like being boring alone is bad enough, but dragging that out and making me bored for as long as possible... its just not fair. In that respect I suppose Punch Drunk Love is the one I dislike the least because it is the shortest. Literally half the length of Magnolia

    My head says I can't stand all this LGBTQPT+()Z stuff in movies that's made to win oscars, I really couldn't care less about gay stories at this point. My heart says I absolutely loved A Bigger Splash. That movie was so nasty and vulgar, it was brilliant. So much fun. So do I watch it or not?

    Finally someone else who can't stand PTA movies. Any time I say that on the forum it's like I've just killed a child. I'm looking forward to last flag flying, it comes out here in a couple weeks I think.
