Lol, the fact that they made a lot of money at the box office does not mean they are well loved. I'm not going to continue this conversation as it is absolutely pointless, clearly we have different experiences of cinema audiences, lets leave it at that.

I wasn't taking any of that from online haters. That's based on the opinions of most people I know, most of whom are very much GA. In fact the only person I know who likes the SW prequels is a big SW fan. GA despises them.

I kind of want to see The Double. I like Jesse Eisenberg and love Ayoade, who is a brilliantly funny and intelligent guy, though I haven't seen any of his films yet. The film seemed very limited and contained, it didn't appeal to me, so I didn't watch it. I had a feeling it might show up on this list, blanks.

I was joking about Battlefield Earth. Into Darkness, Rises and Crystal Skull certainly do not get lauded even by their franchise's fans. Plenty of Star Trek fans hate the 09 remake, and all ST fans hate Into Darkness (which I happen to think is a superior film). EVERYONE hates Indy 4. Nothing needs to be said about that. And TDKR gets so much hate too, from all sorts of people, because it's not as good as TDK and therefore Nolan got lazy for the threequel, or something. As for ROTS, I just mean the prequels in general. ROTS is better liked than the others but you might as well claim it's better liked than Hitler. It isn't saying very much.

Transformers is, naturally, the first thing that comes to mind when you think about movies considered by everyone to be bad. I would probably put the first Transformers movie on there, as I think it's decent. The thing about the first one is that Bay doesn't reach too far, he doesn't try too many crazy ideas. But then it made a shit ton of money, I guess the producers let him have more creative control, and he went batshit crazy with them. It's long but doesn't actually drag on, unlike the other three (especially 4). The human drama is dealt with sensibly, and it even has a few tolerable jokes, unlike the racism and downright unfunniness of the others. The film has one of my favourite scenes ever (arrival to earth) too. Other movies I would put on that sort of list: Star Trek Into Darkness The Dark Knight Rises Indy 4 STAR WARS PREQUELS (DON'T HATE ME) Pirates 4 and of course, Battlefield Earth

Eh... just read what this is actually about. It's fairly similar to Lucy... I really hope the movie isn't as terrible. Shame if she is hyper-sexualised as it looks like in the manga and stuff.

Sorry Blanks, didn't see your reply above Kirk Cameron. It's about a man who has visions and wants to protect his family. It's your choice whether to believe him or not, and how you judge the consequences. Whenever you encounter a film involving schizophrenia, you can draw religious connotations - but Take Shelter particularly reminded me of a man named Noah. I really don't think it's a coincidence that they chose to use a storm (flood) in the film.

Haven't seen True Grit. Wreck-It Ralph was okay, nothing special, just another bland animated film. Looper on the otherhand is really bad. It has a strong cast but that's about it. It's the definition of a mess of a movie. It doesn't know what the hell it's doing, and it's got seventeen thousand layers of nonsensical plot tied together by little more than a string. Watching Looper is like watching paint dry. But then the pain explodes, for no real reason, which should be interesting, but you don't actually care.
