  1. No, is it bad? Trailers can be misleading though especially for kids movies even when the films are amazing they just fill the trailers with poor jokes and slapstick humour because it has to appeal to children.
  2. I'm not sure what that sentence means but with acting specifically, I think it's BS to claim that comedy is so much harder than a biopic role. You can say biopic roles are lazy and easy because they're just copying something, but you could just as easily say that a comedian in a comedy film is putting no effort in because they are just being themselves and not having to act, just perform.
  3. Lmao. Don't overthink it. Just ignore the oscars if that's how you feel. Drama can keep their awards.. genre films get money instead
  4. I keep seeing people claim that "Nobody remembers Avatar", i see it on facebook and reddit all the time, and some new users on here like the above, have started claiming it as well. It's the single most idiotic thing that certain subset of internet kids have decided to spread. It may even be true for those individuals who are probably 14 years old and genuinely can't remember seeing Avatar in the cinema.
  5. According to Know Your Meme the first one was a Portuguese youtuber, then an English speaking one was inspired, about the lack of features in the new Flight Simulator, in 2006, and that's where the meme began. https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/hitlers-downfall-parodies I also agree that the downfall parody is an excellent and timeless meme.
  6. Genre films have always been overlooked for awards. Sad but it's just how awards work. Drama is the only Cinema that Matters.
  7. I hope Abominable is good. One sole female writer/director credited for the script. Maybe thats a stupid reason but that gives me hope. Fingers crossed it can be HTTYD / KFP quality.
  8. Abominable could do over 100M definitely. Addams Family could be interesting, I know a lot of people like that show(think its a show?) But yeah weak year for animation at least at the box office. everything that's not big Disney brands has flop / underperformance
  9. I think it did fine in China given that its sold on nostalgia and China has none for the original which they've never seen.
  10. There's also a large multiplex Vue cinema there. I believe the cinemas on Leicester Square are some of the oldest in the country, it is a bit of cinema history.
  11. Yes. Driving in is a nightmare, and can be expensive with parking & congestion/pollution charges for cars. Take the train to Kings Cross (other stations are available) and then use London's tube network to get to the part of London you want to go. Leicester Square is good for cinemas. It's where films hold their UK red carpet premieres. Cineworld has a Laser IMAX - only two of these in the country and they're awesome. Odeon has just opened the first Dolby Atmos screen in the country. And Prince Charles Cinema has an amazing range of cinephile pleasing films. All within a few feet of each other.
  12. Well, yeah, it's the next Fast and Furious film. This is getting the full force of any F&F film. And no this won't be the top Uni film of the year. We still have CATS remember.
  13. Thanks, unfortunately I think I'm too late. To be fair i have had plenty of free evenings i should have gone back right the next day. (and probably fallen asleep again... LOL)
  14. i've got that song stuck in my head now. Come on baby, do the locomotion. Also, didn't know it wasn't a Kylie original, feel like an idiot now, thanks.
  15. sounds a lot like the locomotion with to me........ Lol.
  16. Try lugging bricks and cement around for 8 hours in blazing heat, go to the cinema sit down for the first time all day and completely knackered... has happened to me with several films just didn't realise how tired i was.
  17. just allow princess mononoke on the list, so what if it turns up on two lists, just goes to show how great people think it is! I didn't notice this one before so you can expect something from me before 31st, won't be 25 though. Wish i had seen Magnolia but I'm waiting for a screening in September to watch it for the first time.
