  1. She seemed cool, like any Hollywood insider on those reality shows (Faceoff, Hollywood Treasure, etc). Now that I'm thinking about it, I really think it was Tim Conway Jr. that she was on -- and he can be a blast, which probably kept the tone of discussion away from bitchy lol. And I only caught the end of their discussion. All I recall was she was talking about how RoA and That's My Boy were doing really miserable. I don't know if she's on weekly, or if it was a rare occasion. I'm usually not off of work in time to catch that particular show. Just so happened I got off early for a change
  2. As a guest. I assume the host (maybe it was Conway Jr?) likes her and that was why.
  3. I think (and someone else could verify this much better than I could) that somewhere over the last year or so (maybe longer?), Nikki has gone from getting numbers at the end of the day and reporting them asap, to getting earlier matinee and early evening numbers and with her experience in tracking real results now extrapolates a reasonable "Number" for the entire day based off of them; and after that she updates the number as results come in.I assume just to make sure she is always first? It was kind of cool/weird, I accidentally caught her on AM790 or 640 last Friday talking about Hollywood.
  4. Consensus is this is not Wall-E, Up or Rat, thus instead of 90+%, it's scoring a low 70s. You don't get 90+ just for trying.
  5. Madagascar 3 was really good. Animation is complex. There's no one way to be great.
  6. I'm saying they'll see the movie and have grampa or grandpa watch the kids, or if the kids are old enough, bring them to see Batman, etc.
  7. How many parents will go see TDKR instead of take the kids to see Brave? Or parents with old enough kids take them out to see TDKR instead of Brave? It won't have to be a huge % of TDKR's audience to turn Brave's drops from 40% into 50%+. But I think TASM and IA risk doing the most damage on the 3rd and 4th weekends anyhow.
  8. I've seen too many people seriously argue the sentiment though
  9. To my knowledge, Cars 2 had nothing to do with the development of Brave. Even less so will it have any bearing on the production of MU (or correct me if I'm wrong?). This kind of nonsense is paper-thin analysis that ignores the problems Pixar has had over the last few years (changing directors on multiple films mid-production, canceling projects that were put into production, major players moving on, etc).
  10. I doubt Brave will be as good as Tangled (and always have). Could it gross more? With Pixar's brand, perhaps. It gets 2 free weeks before real competition arrives, but that competition arrives brutally, with back to back to back TASM, IA4 and TDKR
  11. At most, maybe a character or two. The reason Carsland fit in Southern California was because of the route 66 connection.
  12. The first movie was based in route 66 -- which I can drive down to from where I live. + cars (in general, not the movie) have always been a big thing in Cali. I don't get you people. Carsland is beyond packed from what I've heard. We've purposely not gone down there yet so as to avoid the madhouse, and next time we go, we'll probably not even try it.Do you live in southern california/attend disneyland regularly?
  13. My children still watch MI probably more than any other animated movie, and we almost never miss the ride when we go to disneyland.
  14. Slump? That's a stretch for me. Cars II was still the biggest animated movie last year. And regardless of how Brave performs, MU will be huge next year. After that, The Good Dinosaur aught to be great as well. Not much more of a slump than Rat-Wall-E back to back.
  15. No idea why they couldn't sell except for as CGI has gotten better, stop-motion no longer holds up. Aardman was also behind Arthur Christmas, right? No idea how that one failed like it did either
  16. The more everyone keeps complaining about the RT score, the more I hope this movie pulls 250. Critics don't matter us much as the family when it comes to these movies. However, I still think 3-5th weekend openers will kill it's chances at going that far. (and agreed about The Pirates! -- it was awesome).
  17. And in the long-run probably benefit all of hollywood's future OS releases.
  18. Classic -- There can't be too many more of these guys right? RT is almost always a great indicator of how good a movie might be, but it's weird when you did in and see how relative the standard for rotten and fresh can be for these guys.
  19. If this movie doesn't turn around the reviews (which I think it probably will at least somewhat) and under-performs (which I doubt it will -- except to you who were predicting 300M) -- it adds credence to my opinion that Pixar was going through trouble the last few years with talent drain. Newt got canceled. Cars II got rushed up a year, and both Cars and Brave needed to trade directors mid-way through. Good news is, after this--all of their upcoming projects seem to have had a ton of development time going back a few years, or are far enough away that they still have a ton of time.
  20. This Cars 2 stuff is such nonsense. People can't even wait to see how Brave performs, they're already making excuses in case it doesn't break 300m (which only one previous Pixar original has).
  21. Or Brave is simply just not as good as past Pixar masterpieces. It looks like a Disney Animation follow up to Tangled more than a Pixar original.
  22. Pixar went through Cars, Rat and Wall-E before they created UP.
