  1. Was hoping Kong would hold better and stay above 4M. Still on track for a $25-$26 million weekend. If it seems the same multiplier as Godzilla it will finish with $139M-140M. I think this is definitely gonna hold better.
  2. We haven't had a slasher horror film since 2013.....damn that is a long time. I wonder why studios aren't making slasher horror.
  3. Yeah for highschool and lower. Colleges are out in March
  4. Eh reaction from me.....Pixar isn't good with trailers anyways.
  5. Wisconsin is split on spring break. Half of the schools are off this week and half off next week Great number for Kong!
  6. I wonder how much Kong will increase Tuesday since it held decent Monday.
  7. Happy that 61M opening weekend held up for Kong. Deserves a good box office run
  8. This just looks so bad. I can't see this crossing 100M domestically.
  9. Top 10 1. Beauty and the Beast- $136.5M 2. Kong: Skull Island- $26.3M (-56.9%) 3. Logan- $19.7M (-48%) 4. Get Out- $15.9M (-24.6%) 5. Shack- $6.2M (-38.6%)
  10. I think this movie is gonna do high teens opening weekend and then getting a decent multiplier by counter-programming through April to a 60M finish.
  11. Saw this today....damn that was a fun time in theaters. Definitely recommend it! I can see this have much better legs than Godzilla.
  12. Looks like a Y/A film, poor marketing, and crowded market are all things that are gonna doom this film
  13. If you look at the X-Men movies inflated they actually made a large amount of money. X-Men- 87.4M/252.4M X2- 122.7M/308.3M X3- 135.7M/309.5M
  14. What is up with Dunkirk? I have been gone for a few months. Did some new news surface? It looked pretty mainstream and like a solid hit to me. I mean not 200M+ hit but definitely over 150M.
  15. Anybody feeling like Star War: The Force Awaken's opening weekend is in danger? Because that scene with the birds falling and then........ a plane falling has got me sold. I imagine all viewers of this trailer feel the same. Having such a "holy shit!" moment at the end of the trailer was a brilliant move!
  16. Looking at what people thought Godzilla would do before its release. Lot of predictions were around 60-70M. Godzilla beat predictions by a big margin so I am hoping Kong can do the same and get $70+ this weekend. 80M is too far out there but I feel like 70M is doable
  17. If (or when) this tops $150M it will be a huge feat. The last horror film to top this number (unadjusted) was What Lies Beneath in 2000 $155.5M. The Conjuring just got past the $150M mark in 2013 if you adjust the films for inflation.
