Haven't caught up with the last season, yet, but from the first two seasons, it is a good show, and yes, a damn sight better than any recent seasons I'd seen of the other CW DC superhero shows. But they were already cutting costs, and as I said in another thread here, Warner Bros. surely A) didn't want to be embarrassed again like during the SMALLVILLE/Superman Returns competition that happened, and B ) Yes, surely Zaslav and/or Gunn were involved in making the decision here, as others have said, Zaslav has been very clear about his feelings on this matter in interviews already! I also think it's amazing that it's even getting a 4th season!

Oh, they realized how good the show is? 😁 No, seriously folks, the show was already being shaved down in terms of budget and the unsure future of THE CW. Plus... Warners learned from their SMALLVILLE experience! 😁 They're not afraid of "competition" per se...but in the off-chance that Gunn's film underwhelms, they don't want the same kind of situation, again -- SMALLVILLE lasted 10 years on-air and is *still* loved and talked about to this day, while SUPERMAN RETURNS lasted...maybe 2 or 3 in mass cultural consciousness.

Kathleen Kennedy/Lucasfilm approves or more regularly seems to disapprove of every major decision that Star Wars filmmakers make, so no, this is all on Lucasfilm/and yes, Disney brass for somehow neglecting to achieve one of the most, if not THE most obvious reunion in popular film history...when they had all the actors attached and finally ready and willing.

...Which they were likely told to say by Marvel/Disney to keep the lid on this. He probably shows up in the third act/finale to help take on the Leader, Red Hulk, etc. It would truly be *really* bizarre to finally feature The Leader in a Marvel movie and *not* have the Hulk show up, at some point. Then again, Lucasfilm somehow didn't see fit to unite the original Star Wars cast on screen in any of those three films, so...

If he comes back, he'll show up in something else first, part of an ensemble (a la other cameos/supporting planned for Superman: Legacy). Seems like Gunn is not shy about establishing a "universe" of characters up front -- he might even have a cameo in Legacy. Xolo saying "I can confidently say we'll see him soon" seems to indicate some confidence... Then again, Gal Gadot espoused the same type of quotes...and look what happened? 😁

Why says this? If it's not in the trades, I'll have trouble buying it. "Scheduling is a factor" are the quotes I read...back in November(!) The latest delays are (apparently) for Screenplay changes...again (although this could be at Pascal's request, I suppose...) -

There's still time... 😆 Um...as far as I'm aware, he hasn't signed on, yet...officially ;-) (As in, being officially announced in the Hollywood Trades -- and sometimes even they are "wrong" or behind the eight-ball). -
And with what Universal did for Oppenheimer, it's overwhelming success ensures that Comcast/Universal will surely want to be in the Nolan business again as soon as he's ready. Warners (if they're even still the same entity) will have to have a pretty handsome offer to lure Nolan back so quickly. Not sure they can even afford him, anymore...they might have spent that capital on gaining Cruise.

I'm all for support of Gerwig and Lee should-have-been nominated, but jeez... LET IT GO, Hillary. -
Rothman knows film history quite well, tank you very much! 😁 From 2007 – 2012 Rothman wrote and hosted a television series, “Fox Legacy,” which includes almost fifty essays on the history of classic films. http://www.tomrothman.com/about/ (Don't know why I'm on a mission lately to angle support for Rothman...but the guy has earned his chops at SONY and I like to remind people that he has quite impressive career/lifetime accomplishments, despite his tortured history with FOX/X-Men fanboys...)

Hmmm...yet again pushed back... And Hmm...well, perhaps because publicists were *told* not to... perhaps because it's still closer to 100% that Pascal will do The Mandalorian and Last of Us, and I'd say more like 75% doing Fantastic Four... nothing has been officially announced on FF casting, and I think there's a reason for that. Contract negotiations...and the other two or three unknowns being rumored are surely not the cause of the delays...
