  1. Titanic 2: Revenge of the Iceberg IronJimbo predicts $5B DOM, $12B China and $50B WW.
  2. I know exactly the one you mean but I can't find it anywhere when I search for it! It's the one where they're running and a guy gets turned into a skeleton right?
  3. Jurassic World made over $87m in its first set of weekdays.
  4. It should definitely increase on Thursday, Rogue One increased 12% last year.
  5. The price of tickets is why I always go to the cinema on Tuesdays or Wednesdays with 2 for 1 tickets (Meerkat Movies). Does anyone know how that factors into the box office numbers? I assume they just take the price actually paid for the tickets, so it will be less with 2 for 1.
  6. @Jay Hollywood wasn't saying $1b was impossible, he was saying over $2b is impossible, and I agree!
  7. I bet The Last Jedi passes $550m DOM by Dec 31st, 75pts, 5 people. For comparison TFA made $651m in 2015 and RO made $408m in 2016.
  8. I sense a thread lock or ban hammer coming soon if this thread carries on like this!
  9. The difference between Avatar and a lot of other movies is that the sequel could drop hugely (70% or more) from the original and still be a financial success. I think Alice Through the Looking Glass has the biggest sequel drop from a $1b grosser, and I see this 70% drop as the absolute floor for Avatar 2 if everything goes wrong (marketing, reviews, WOM, exchange rates etc). This would still be over $800m WW which, while disappointing, could not be branded as a flop or colossal failure as you suggest.
  10. On the subject of films about social media, I highly recommend Cyberbully starring Maisie Williams, she gives a brilliant performance. I don't think there's a way if legally watching it outside the UK though, a problem with some smaller British indie films like this.
