Looks like movie is good but weaker compared to 1st part.

Unprecedented craze for Baahubali 2 in India...advance booking opened in selected theatres/screens. People are applying for leaves/holidays on Friday The craze/hype is so much it might disappoint some even if its good.

I don't see that much of a problem with $100m opening or so for a Fast & Furious movie. Unless people expected it to break opening records. F7 obviously had Paul Walker emotional effect into play.

BOI numbers are lower for most movies. But yes for Kaabil the difference is too big. There are many articles and accusations going around on Rakesh Roshan for manipulating the numbers. Many exhibitors and trade analysts are doubtful of the numbers and they have mentioned this on twitter. While other sites like bollyarena, indicine etc have articles on this issue. RR was accused of this even during Krrish 3. Taran Adarsh have stopped giving Kaabil numbers after Friday while he reports/gives number for Raees. May be the actual numbers are in between.

What a waste of opportunity due to clash...I feel although Raees looks easily the winner of two in the clash, it will also be the bigger loser due to clash. After a long time I am hearing good feedback from public for SRK movie...not great feedback but mass pleasing decent entertainer. Without clash it could have been targeting 250crrs+ but will now do around 150-160crrs On the other hand Kaabil will do around 100-110crrs...while without clash it could have done around 150-160crrs.

How was the movie compared to SRK previous movies? Dilwale, Fan etc which also opened big but couldn't sustain well. A solo release would have given 35crrs tomorrow on 26th Jan or may be even OD record. (now 25crrs can be expected for tomorrow?) Kaabil seems to be HR's best performance but with clash collections are poor. Now everyone wants to release movie on holidays which is stupid as there are hardly 10-12 holidays in a year. Without clash on non holiday both would have done better. Its becoming ego clash as well so in future many clashes will happen on holidays.

As expected Dangal smashes records...looks like will do more than $100m globally when all said and done Regarding Star Wars somehow people have never warmed up even after so many years...other superhero movies, MI or Furious series or Jurassic World have all gained strength over the years...its shocking for me to see it open even below Finding Dory. Many of my friends haven't watched and they don't seem to be too much interested...some of them tried to watch but didn't liked that much...many people find lightsaber fighting kiddish and joke around and compare it with tube light fighting (fluorescent lamps)...puzzling indeed

I think the sequel is coming way too late and have lost some novelty and hype factor of the original...so can't get big numbers if its mediocre and needs to be as good and fun as the original on its own

Yes the trailer was good and have been well received...lets see if the movie lives up to the hype or not (i doubt because of srk recent track record which is not so good)

The movie was really fun and entertaining...however Yates have problem in maintaining consistency throughout...some parts are really good while some parts drags, looked forced and unnecessary...the forced romantic tension between Newt and Tina specially in the climax drags...they don't have that kind of chemistry...Redmayne was the weakest character of the movie and doesn't attract as lead...seemed to be in danish girl/theory of everything mode...in short Redmayne acted just like Redmayne and fails completely as character here...but Sudol and Fogler were ace...liked Farrell too (would love to see him again in sequels although I doubt his return)...didn't mind the climax twist but Depp's getup and act looked more on humorous POC lines than of threatening villain. But still it was fun overall and it was great to visit the wizarding world once again

Worldwide opening is good but looks weak compared to HP...without China and Japan should do around $350-380m in OS...final total depends on how big it's going to be in China and Japan

Cruise should stop doing only action/sci-fi movies non stop...in between he needs to take/mix other genres as well
