  1. Apparently there are "fully mobile vehicles that are capable of "eating" other cities." -- Sold
  2. For real Theater was a mess yesterday. Day off, awkward temperature = movie theater swarming time
  3. I think that's mainly due to Michael Fassbender's excellent performance.
  4. Just came back from Alien, the themes explored in this movie are so fucking great! ... but then it pains me so much to see the missed opportunities at play here I mean, I liked it, but it could have been a classic if it wasn't for a few, but oh-so-big flaws. The movie definitely has something to say, it's got a voice, and splendid visuals to boot, it's a shame it doesn't work as well as it could. Michael Fassbender kills it though, as usual. Still, recommended, once the movie gets going, it's pretty good
  5. 2 (1) Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 Walt Disney $35,062,000 -46% 4,347 $8,066 $301,799,474 17 Let's see if AC wins once Fox discloses those actuals
  6. I wasn't around here at the time but I'm sure these forums have endured worse in the past, and will keep on enduring. Keep up the good work mods. Box office nerds will always flock here, regardless of if we have insider infos or not. That's just who we are
  7. @Asgard2 Thank you for what you did. You will be remembered. As for the situation...
  8. My #1 movie of 1997 only came out in the US in 1999 My #2 movie of 1997 also only came out in the US in 1999 (wide release) Can you guess the movies?
  9. The landscape of entertainment consumption between 2002 and 2012 changed so much, I'd bet you can't really conclude anything from that data. People nowadays just have exponentially more ways to be entertained than just renting a movie, or watching it on TV. We are being, as consumers, bombarded with content competing for our attention, so much that pretty much everyone I know now has a queue of TV shows they want to watch, movies they wanna catch up with, but they simply don't have the time to go through them, as their attention is also being taken by following the lives of their friends and families on facebook, watching new videos uploaded by their favorite channels on YouTube, or going through funny content on websites like reddit and stuff (and that's just what I can come up with off the top of my head) In 2002, I doubt this was the case for anyone. Movies and TV shows didn't have as much competition as they do now, and although piracy must have had an impact, the landscape changed too much to directly compare the industry between the 2 decades.
  10. https://www.facebook.com/susan.porcaro.goings?fref=ts Looks like a family friend. Seems like he is dead for real RIP
  11. Not even 100% sure it's a hoax either I guess we'll have to wait for more credible news edit: his IMDb and Wikipedia pages still list him as alive
  12. Apparently it's a hoax http://en.mediamass.net/people/powers-boothe/deathhoax.html
  13. Now now, there's quite a big difference between Deadpool and Batman v Superman for instance. The 2 can barely be compared. You'd have to subject yourself to some pretty epic mental gymnastics to think they're the same. Guardians of the Galaxy is also completely different from these 2.
  14. The Last Jedi can't really make below $1.4B TFA made 1150 OS, TLJ won't suddenly drop to like 500, this isn't Rogue One (even with Exchange rate drops) It also won't drop to Rogue One levels domestically. Everyone wants to know what happens next, especially with Luke around Floor to me is $650M DOM and $750M OS My prediction - $230M OW x 3.50 = $800M DOM + $900M OS for $1.7B WW
  15. dem moves edit: I think that's another one of @MrPink's gifs? Not even sure who I totally not stole it from at this point
