James Cameron is a difficult one to predict, yes Titanic and Avatar made huge numbers, but I mean... It is 'only' two movies of his whole filmography, and Cameron did capture a zeitgeist at those times which I don't necessarily feel he can this time. I don't think Cameron should be bet against, but equally I don't think it should be expected that he'll have another huge success on the level of Titanic and Avatar. Even my best friend, who loved Avatar, isn't excited for a sequel (though I know that's not necessarily what all Avatar fans think).

Now the race is on to see if this can get a trailer out before Passengers...

Why was he a joke? His worst films that I can see are Mr & Mrs Smith and Jumper.

Gah, why'd they have to get the second best director they've hired to do the movie I'm the least interested in... Oh well, at least this has gotten me mildly more interested in the movie now.

Agreed generally, I feel like Joy needed to have a tighter story though, and get rid of some of the weirder stuff like the soap opera bits. But yes, it has the best JLaw performance.

I definitely think JLaw's gave her best performance in Joy, not to say that she gave a bad performance in the other two, and as controversial as it is to say, I think she deserved her Oscar for SLP.

I'm not sure if Disney would want Moretz as Ariel. She's not that good an actress plus has clearly shown she has little box office draw to make up for not being good at acting.

So Sony actually remembered this exists? Maybe they'll remember to put the trailer out soon too...

So the female lead shortlist (presumably to play Iris West) is reportedly down to three actresses - Kiersey Clemons, Lucy Boynton and Rita Ora. Clemons is the frontrunner, she worked with the director in his previous film Dope. Rita Ora is a bit of a surprise to me, I've never seen her act so have no idea if she'd be any good.

Yeah, I was thinking that TS3 probably had the ideal circumstances while TS4 won't, the only other Pixar film that has a similar scenario to TS3 and FD is I2. A film adored by fans with a long-awaited sequel. I'd say the fans of The Incredibles are demanding a sequel more than Nemo fans were, but equally whether that would be widespread enough I don't know.

Maybe Toy Story 4, or Incredibles 2.

Was assuming they'd have a limited release of it in December.

I've never seen the original, but that trailer was pretty damn good. Might go see this.

Was a fine trailer, Fassbender was good in it and I'm excited for whatever films he's in. Have to echo what everyone else has said though, the music choice is bizarre and really does not fit at all.

First film that opened to over $85,171,450 to probably have a less than 2x multiplier.
