Technically Hop was illumination's only failure but that was also live action, with some animation thrown in there. With what's going on with the company I wouldn't be surprised if they really do make a Shrek 5 at this point. None of their films since Shrek 4 have opened over 50m while Pixar has had 3 films make the mark and so has Illumination. Also reviews for penguins aren't looking good at this point either and Home looks like a flop at this point. I don't see them making it past 2017. Forgot Madagascar 3 opened to 60m

It started off well enough but it wears out its welcome by the end. There were some big laughs, mostly in the middle but the last 30 minutes were running on fumes. The performances were also enjoyable too but they can't save the weak script. They tried way too hard at parts, with the green radiation stuff, Lloyd's dream, the Zamboni and Lloyd and Harry not knowing how to actually have sex. Like seriously I don't care how stupid they are, they would at least be able to figure that one out. Also the diaper changing scenes were just flat out gross unfunny and completely unecassary . I'll give it a C, it's not good by any standard but considering everything it could have been much worse
