I want to see BP smash all the records but... would $22M in previews get to $180M+? I think that's low for that kind of number. -

Den of Thieves ahead of 12S for the weekend. I don't think it'll pass it but I hope it does. It's PTA is actually on par with Maze Runner. I think Den of Thieves needed more times and theaters. Fifty Shades needs to go away. -
I think this looks like great fun and I'm so happy to see he's doing a big huge dumb action movie that is NOT a tentpole. I've greatly missed those. I want to see new shit, not old shit. Even though this particular new shit does remind me of an old classic.

Jumanji! i still want Den of Thieves to finish higher than 12S but it doesn't seem likely. TLJ will not reach the top 5 domestic. That is something I would have thought to be impossible. Say what you will, it underperformed.

Here's something I don't think many people have mentioned. I've seen a lot of talk about TLJ being a sequel and $1.3B is nothing to sneeze at. Sure, that's true. No denying that. But Furious 7 was the seventh movie in a franchise that is nowhere near the level of popularity as Star Wars and it did $1.5B. I think there's reason for some to be disappointed with this TLJ run.

My phone was fuckin up earlier What I was going to say is I'm happy to see Den of Thieves doing well. Hopefully we see more lower budget action/crime movies in the future, I miss those days where a Cliffhanger or Marked for Death was the must see movie of the weekend.

Avengers vs. TDK is an apples to oranges. One film is a single character. Another is a group of characters brought together from previous solo films. Unless you think Batman is a bigger character combined than all of the other heroes put together.

I don't see it that way. Jumanji cost $90M to make and they would have been happy with half of what it's doing.

I have to agree on the Collider hate. I used to like them but there's certain movies now where if the thing underperforms or doesn't quite live up to the build or has a mixed reaction they make excuse after excuse for it.. I'd prefer if they just reported the facts.

Why are some people still saying that the WOM on TLJ isn't mixed? What world are you living in? It's obviously mixed. It would certainly have showed better legs and wouldn't be getting killed by Jumanji. But credit to Jumanji also. Right movie and right time.
