  1. I liked KAFM but it's not as mainstream or accessible compared to things like The Departed, Wolf of Wall Street or Shutter Island which all were successful. Marty may complain that the studios don't fund his projects anymore but after seeing how KAFM is doing, you can see why this is the case.
  2. I know Wicked was moved to November 2024 from December 2024 but I think Universal should move it back to December since there isn't much there at the moment. TBH I think given it only had 10 days left to shoot and they can reschedule it with pick ups and reshoots, it could meet late 2024 pretty easily. Beetlejuice 2 is the same, I would move to mid to late October and schedule Juror Number 2 in its place since as a Clint movie, it'd be able to wrap in a few weeks and still make the release date.
  3. I know people think cinemas will be gone by the end of 2024 but TBH nothing can be as bad as 2020 or the first half of 2021.
  4. I know you think the World is going to end next year but please try and be positive at least once in a while.
  5. I suspect the final render will be like the CGI characters in Tintin where it looks like the 1937 Dwarves but in CGI.
  6. IATSE does have the advantage of not having Fran Drescher as part of their union so things probably will go a lot smoother.
  7. The IATSE TBF are probably much lower down the rung in terms of demands compared to SAG or the WGA but I suspect after having production suspended, the studios likely don't want to have a strike in 2024.
  8. I think the two movies every other year was imposed on them because we don't see it from WDAS who only missed a year was because Pixar had two films out in a year.
  9. I would imagine with the IATSE, whatever deal is made with SAG can be used as a template.
  10. The fact they gave Elio summer 2025 is a sign of confidence but I wonder if Disney is moving away from having two Pixar films or two WDAS films every other year.
  11. I wonder if they didn't push Elio until November because they weren't confident in it facing Wicked? Zootopia 2 being a sequel mean it has a built in audience.
  12. I wonder if it's more about the 2025 Pixar film is in trouble due to the strikes and Elio being mostly finished fills that gap nicely.
  13. The CGI dwarves look rough but with an extra year of post production, they could look at least decent. I do wonder why Gal Gadot's Evil Queen hasn't been shown yet.
  14. Snow White I think is being reworked, Elio being delayed a year is interesting, I thought IO2 would be delayed with Elio taking its slot. I wonder if whatever Pixar had for 2025 simply isn't ready due to the strike or if Disney and Pixar have decided to stick to one movie per year.
  15. I imagine anything that was distributed by Universal stays with Universal but Blumhouse's track record is enough for studios to grab him. That being said, a number of Blumhouse films have been with other studios like Fantasy Island and Whiplash.
  16. My eyes always roll when the trades try and declare Disney as a dying company.
  17. $20m seems a lot for Blumhouse but still will be profitable for Universal. I wonder if Jason Blum will stick with Universal as his first run deal runs out next year or will we see attempts from rival studios?
  18. It's only 2% of the unions which isn't exactly a big number, it'd be more impressive if it was 10-20%.
  19. Italy would be good for Fran to go to.... I do wonder if SAG members regret reelecting her, luckily it's only for two more years.
  20. The issue with a revenue sharing percentage is that surely it's not fair that only actors should get it. Surely the wealth needs to go to everyone involved in a scripted production. I do think Fran probably have bitten more than she can chew and currently doesn't want to concede. I'm not sure about Duncan Crabtree-Ireland but I wonder if the studios would rather work with him and the others at SAG to get things done.
  21. Surprised you're so anti Disney, they're not going to be forced to lose prime dates.
  22. I think a lot of the bigger names like George Clooney are tired of Fran and perhaps Duncan hence trying to overstep them with proposals. I did like Fran's speech when the strike began but TBH I think the last few weeks have damaged her credibility.
  23. I get the sense if Fran keeps up like this, there's going to be a coup at SAG. The AMPTP aren't exactly the good guys but they don't need to anything to make SAG look like idiots.
  24. Fran going on about masculine energy is eye rolling and a bit offensive to female CEOs like Donna Langley.
