  1. Mark Ruffalo wanted Hollywood to collapse and be replaced which is naive at best and stupid at worse.
  2. I've noticed that in the UK, the British shows commissioned by Netflix such as Who is Erin Carter have been allowed to promote their shows so I assume those are under British Equity contracts. One things that the New York based shows can use actors doing Broadway shows as the SAG strike doesn't cover them since that's American Equity and they have the likes of Danny DeVito, Daniel Radcliffe, Jonathan Groff etc of course they can not appear out if solidarity but they're not forbidden. Eric McCormack was promoting The Cottage on GMA3 and Morning Joe and no one bat an eyelid.
  3. This is why people piling on Drew Barrymore are looking stupid. Literally every daytime show is resuming.
  4. I assume that Branagh has been given more liberties with A Haunting in Venice given it's based on a Christie novel that wasn't exactly a classic. If Haunting is successful, I could see 20th green lighting another. Evil Under the Sun set say in Spain or Greece would be good.
  5. Let's be real, you're not going to see every single CEO fired because of the WGA/SAG strike. In the case of Apple and even Disney, scripted content is only a fraction of their revenue
  6. I suspect it's probably for being disruptive, being in a TV audience means that you have to follow rules and if you break them, you're out! The Talk is planning to resume production as well so I assume WGA has another show to picket.
  7. The same thing happened to Ellen during the last 2007 WGA strike when she explained that contractually she had to come in and do her show and WGA piled on her for doing. Have to say, some of the fellow actors such as Bradley Whitford should think before posting on socials because some of the attacks towards Drew don't paint them to a good light.
  8. Ken Jennings got piled on for hosting Jeopardy! even though he's well within his right to given it's on the same contract that Drew Barrymore is for her show.
  9. TBH I imagine if Drew had simply said, contractually the show has to start up again then she wouldn't get as much stick from the WGA. SAG AFTRA hasn't criticised her decision nor will they blacklist because as Frances Fisher mentioned her contract is with Netcode who aren't on strike.
  10. I've never watched Drew's show but surely being a daytime talkshow, it's not written in the sense like a late show. The View is still airing so why it is any different? I suspect she herself can't say no otherwise she's in violation of her contract with CBS who could sue her. If Kelly Clarkson returns then we'll know it's for the same seasons.
  11. Weirdly the second one was on TV yesterday and I ended up watching it, I agree with @Eric the Nun's point being the perfect background movie to do chores with and I did chuckle a few times as well.
  12. It always boggles me that The Nun is a strong performer OS especially in Europe. A Nun III is all but locked at this point but personally they need to a Crooked Man movie.
  13. Strange that Nun fell very slightly but everything else increased on Saturday.
  14. It won't last until late 2024 for two reasons, one because both the writers and actors cannot go without work for that long and indeed most in the industry can't either and also the studios need content, Covid delays were possible because cinemas were shut, you can't do that when everything is open.
  15. I've said this before but it's interesting that Bollywood films rarely crack the top 5 in the domestic market.
  16. The Nun II likely was cheap to make so WB is going to making money either way. The BFGW films are likely still profiting from the first film alone so it doesn't really matter if this new one doesn't do well. This film likely only cost $20-25m so Focus Features and indeed Playtone aren't losing much.
  17. Suspending simply means not paying although I think the JJ Abrams deal ends this year so I think it once the strikes are resolved, they won't be renewing it either way.
  18. I don't think it's a like for like comparison to compare Mutant Mayhem to the 2014 and 2016 films. A better comparison would be the 2007 animated film.
  19. I think the three day OW was basically on par with the first two. Very consistent as a franchise, The Equalizer- £ 1,980,754 The Equalizer 2 - £1.9m
  20. I do wonder if SAG and indeed the AMPTMP might look at what British Equity is doing with their negotiations with various broadcasters and PACT to see if they can give a blueprint for a deal. British Equity has said they are willing to strike but I suspect they won't given the relationship with PACT is a lot better and because the negotiations aren't until next year, they can take a wait and see approach.
  21. SOF was safe to say not a hit in the UK.
  22. Michael Jackson isn't a great comparison because he didn't tour as much as Taylor has as a solo artists and indeed he didn't tour in North America for the HIStory or the Dangerous tours.
  23. I think with Taylor Swift, her success has grown organically unlike a lot of singers where they peak early and then decline. I like her earlier stuff but once she became less country and more pop, that's when she hit the big time.
