  1. The only actress that has done promo for a film is Anne Hathaway but that was approved by SAG as it was an independent movie. Everyone else has been promoting plays, books etc
  2. @Eric Feels 22 With Disney's 100th anniversary tomorrow, is there going to be any top 100 list.
  3. As I've said, I think tempers on social media probably need to be lowered much they were a month ago with the WGA attacking people left, right and centre. I assume the promotion for Killers of the Flower Moon is things that's been done months ago rather than recently. Leo has done no promotion so it's not him.
  4. I do think you need calm down a little, it will get resolved.
  5. Wonka is being released a week earlier in the UK, that suggests WB is confident in it doing good business.
  6. I do think they should have the talks at a location that isn't the AMPTP offices or the SGA offices and none of this day on, day off business. To me, the lack of urgency from both sides needs to go.
  7. There's always money to be made from concert tours but many artists don't want to film their tours for some reason. Don't get me wrong, it's better seeing concerts live but the cost can be very expensive. The Wolf of Wall Street even with the long runtime had a great hook for audiences. It made $289m OS alone
  8. How much is filming a concert film, I imagine it's at best $20m so Taylor Swift is already swimming in cash.
  9. There's a difference between waiting a few weeks compared to a few months. I am more inclined towards a few weeks only because both sides are at the tail end of resolve.
  10. TBF to DEH it had a good run for an original musical with productions around the world, the movie didn't help but I think it would closed anyway, likewise with Come From Away which closed around a similar time as DEH. With Cats, the movie sucking and failing won't kill interest in it. It's one of those shows which excels on the stage. I'm really want a Miss Saigon movie simply because it's one of the few musicals which is very cinematic in its staging. The Book of Mormon which I do like would be harder to pull off as a movie.
  11. I like 1989 as an album, my favourite song from that is Welcome to New York which must be the only Taylor Swift song that was used so much in movies that didn't get a single release.
  12. Honestly $2.8m is really impressive considering how they added the show at the last minute. I do wonder if we'll ever see a theatrical production crack the top ten? I know in the US, SAG and American Equity can't seem to agree on how a recorded performance is compensated. it's not an issue elsewhere such as British Equity since theatre and film are agreed by the same union.
  13. It does make me think that the AMPTP are hoping SAG drops the revenue sharing or at least comes up with a slightly more appealing proposal.
  14. I think November is likely only because I don't think SAG has enough reserves to keep it going longer than that.
  15. The revenue sharing by SAG is not going to happen because I suspect it would mean others would demand it and end up being too costly
  16. Greenlighting pilots can be done now since the writers are no longer on strike as well as January. The other alternative is straight to series which also can be done now as well. I do think there is a massive amount of hyperbole regarding the SAG strike and like the WGA strike, tempers on social media need to be cooled down.
  17. TBH certain people thought the WGA strike would bleed into next year and cause Hollywood to collapse and that didn't happen. I think if the revenue sharing is dropped or amended then probably we'll see a deal done at the next talks.
  18. I don't think it'll be months before talks resume again, indeed I imagine 2-3 weeks. When talks resume, I think they need to stop with one day on, one day off.
  19. TBH DWA has been outsourcing bits of productions for the last decade so expanding it doesn't surprise me.
  20. Fury Road has been the can for a while so moving it up wouldn't be a surprise. I think Garfield will move as well and displace the already delayed Harold and the Purple Crayon. Mickey 17 is one where I wonder if WB will delay it? Could easily play in July or August or possibly November.
  21. Have to admit, the day on, day off by both sides is strange especially compared to the WGA.
  22. I find it amusing that no one that spell Drew Barrymore's surname.
  23. I assume Universal is paying a portion of the budget in exchange for OS rights. Weird that Lionsgate is keeping Japan but not UK but I wonder if Universal wanted UK distribution and Lionsgate didn't argue.
