  1. Weirdly the second one was on TV yesterday and I ended up watching it, I agree with @Eric the Nun's point being the perfect background movie to do chores with and I did chuckle a few times as well.
  2. It always boggles me that The Nun is a strong performer OS especially in Europe. A Nun III is all but locked at this point but personally they need to a Crooked Man movie.
  3. Strange that Nun fell very slightly but everything else increased on Saturday.
  4. It won't last until late 2024 for two reasons, one because both the writers and actors cannot go without work for that long and indeed most in the industry can't either and also the studios need content, Covid delays were possible because cinemas were shut, you can't do that when everything is open.
  5. I've said this before but it's interesting that Bollywood films rarely crack the top 5 in the domestic market.
  6. The Nun II likely was cheap to make so WB is going to making money either way. The BFGW films are likely still profiting from the first film alone so it doesn't really matter if this new one doesn't do well. This film likely only cost $20-25m so Focus Features and indeed Playtone aren't losing much.
  7. Suspending simply means not paying although I think the JJ Abrams deal ends this year so I think it once the strikes are resolved, they won't be renewing it either way.
  8. I don't think it's a like for like comparison to compare Mutant Mayhem to the 2014 and 2016 films. A better comparison would be the 2007 animated film.
  9. I think the three day OW was basically on par with the first two. Very consistent as a franchise, The Equalizer- £ 1,980,754 The Equalizer 2 - £1.9m
  10. I do wonder if SAG and indeed the AMPTMP might look at what British Equity is doing with their negotiations with various broadcasters and PACT to see if they can give a blueprint for a deal. British Equity has said they are willing to strike but I suspect they won't given the relationship with PACT is a lot better and because the negotiations aren't until next year, they can take a wait and see approach.
  11. SOF was safe to say not a hit in the UK.
  12. Michael Jackson isn't a great comparison because he didn't tour as much as Taylor has as a solo artists and indeed he didn't tour in North America for the HIStory or the Dangerous tours.
  13. I think with Taylor Swift, her success has grown organically unlike a lot of singers where they peak early and then decline. I like her earlier stuff but once she became less country and more pop, that's when she hit the big time.
  14. I think having a decent selection of films helped.
  15. I think Nolan could find a role for Denzel quite easily but more a supporting one than the lead.
  16. I can envision Denzel in a Nolan film and perhaps a Spielberg film but Scorsese and PTA, no chance!
  17. Amusing that SOF dropped from Friday against the holdovers.
  18. I avoided it as well, I know it's a bit rude to say this but I don't want to hanging out with riff raff.
  19. I do wonder if Equalizer 3 doing well considering they couldn't use Denzel and Dakota to promote it might give studios food for thought over whether they need to send their actors out on promotional tours for every film.
  20. Surely the audiences for Killers of the Flower Moon and Taylor is very different. I would think it's more likely Killers will stay put.
  21. UK was never going to be a major market for SOF, I would say 4th is pretty good considering it's had little marketing but I would imagine it probably will be frontloaded. In regards to NCD, I would imagine the kids films, Meg 2 and Blue Beetle will see massive jumps. SOF have got shafted with limited showtimes.
  22. Surely some games aren't going to be affected as developers could just work around not having actors for voice work or motion capture.
  23. Given how long games take to make, will anyone even notice if a game is delayed by a few months? I would imagine that something like Mortal Kombat 1 is already locked and likewise Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League.
