  1. At this rate, nothing will dethrone either film in August.
  2. 6 episodes is the average but they can be as low as 3 to 4 episodes. Doctor Who was always an exception to that although it has gotten shorter in terms of episode count and they've had years where there has been only had a handful of episodes. It's interesting how rare it is in the US to have one person writing a show. Taylor Sheridan on Yellowstone comes to mind as well as Julian Fellowes for The Gilded Age although the latter did that on Downton Abbey as well,
  3. The runtime is 109 minutes, must be the first time that a film series has got shorter with each instalment.
  4. It's likely The Equalizer 3 will dethrone Barbie which would mean Barbie and Oppenheimer would have dominated the top 2 for the entire school holidays which hasn't happened in years.
  5. Writer's rooms are much rarer overseas. In the UK, most scripted programming are written by 1 or 2 writers although some have multiple writers like Doctor Who or soap operas.
  6. Not really, they don't have anyone from the DCEU films in it so they can easily transport Jamie Reyes to the new DCU without any issues. Judi Dench reprised M in the Daniel Craig Bond films so it's possible.
  7. Solid reviews, the opening will be on the low side but I think it'll have decent legs, there's not much in terms of similar competition as The Equalizer 3 and Nun 2 are both R rated.
  8. TBH 24's padding was never an issue for me, I was always amazed someone like Jack could have so many bad days.
  9. The only show in my mind that could sustain 20+ episodes serialised was 24.
  10. It did better than Gran Turismo....
  11. 2019 TBF was really a fluke that could never be repeated, it doesn't mean they're doomed though.
  12. I agree with serialised shows, 10-13 episodes should be the the maximum.
  13. Some shows can sustain 20+ episodes especially if it's a procedural. Despite people looking down on them, they're very much in demand and indeed on an AVOD platform, something like NCIS would be a big moneymaker. I do think to be realistic, people won't abandon streaming in favour of physical media and companies won't either.
  14. Sony previewing GT is a way for them to essentially boost what will likely be bad OW numbers if OS is anything to go by.
  15. TBF Salem's Lot is a much easier sell than Demeter but I suspect it's on the shelf because it's very bad. WB might need to dust it off if they're short of content next year.
  16. Return of the King doesn't count because it was released by New Line Cinema before they were folded into WB.
  17. The important thing for Paramount is that it revived TMNT as a franchise for them both on film and TV.
  18. Haunted Mansion beating Gran Turismo is surprising, audiences really don't want to see the latter.
  19. Captain America has already wrapped so it could easily move back to its current slot.
  20. I think the fact Blue Beetle had fairly low expectations by both people here and indeed WB means it can exceed them by simply being good.
  21. It does amaze me that Universal has never remade Creature from the Black Lagoon, it's one of the few Universal monsters that they own outright.
  22. Universal IIRC only has domestic and a couple of other countries, eOne was meant to be distribute it elsewhere but they've just been sold to Lionsgate so I guess they have to wait until that is sorted.
  23. $45m but Universal are only distributing it so they're not losing much if any money at all.
