  1. I'm thinking Guardians will be similar numbers to Iron Man 2's OW which for a second film would be very good at worst and $150-160m OW at best. I have a feeling Wonder Woman is going to surprise everyone, for better or worse.
  2. I imagine if BKB isn't banned by the time Wonder Woman is released, the weekend car park report will be something like this: Wonder Woman is going to be a MASSIVE bomb, the parking lot was EMPTY, DC FAILS!!!
  3. Richard Madden did okay in Cinderella and he was really good in Romeo and Juliet which I saw him do in the West End. Kit Harrington's done okay apart from Pompeii. Maisie Williams has done some decent roles like her stint in Doctor Who and Sophie Turner of course got X-Men.
  4. Bay like Peter Jackson needs an editor who's willing to tell him to cut stuff. I dread to think how The Last Knight will be, probably shy of three hours.
  5. I'm dreading BKB's return, GOTG2 weekend and Wonder Woman weekend is just going to a headache with wall to wall bolded text, CAPITAL LETTERS ,bad language topped with sexist and racist comments and posts about parking lots...
  6. People complained that the stage musical version of Beauty and the Beast was the film plonked on stage but for most people that was the selling point and it ran 13 years on Broadway plus many successful tours and international productions. The 2017 BATB is no different and it's going be a huge hit because it's BATB as a live action film.
  7. Ice Age was the first animated film to break out in March, its a popular month for animated films, I think WB is the only studio not to have release a WAG film in that month as they have their films in February and September. Zootopia was released a month early in many markets so I suspect Coco will capitalise on local holidays in many places and release in October, the only real competition is Lego Ninjago which probably will only do well in English speaking markets
  8. I wonder when Guardian of the Galaxy Vol 2 presales will occur, it's out in 6 weeks so I would guess within the next 2 weeks, Wonder Woman I suspect will have presales at the end of April/beginning of May.
  9. Everyone thinks it's family friendly but it was rated PG-13 and has some adult humour. I really like the speech at the end where Daniel as Mrs Doubtfire responds to the letter about a girl's parents splitting up. It's one of the more poignant moments of the film.
  10. I think BATB while it's a family film, will do better than what most family films do on weekdays as it will appeal to the demo who saw it as kids. Get Out should do well, I think Split numbers would be great.
  11. I'd be up for a new sequel, a lot has changed since The Matrix Revolutions and I think exploring what became of it would be interesting, another idea is a prequel trilogy which explores the origins of The Matrix and the rise of the machines.
  12. American Sniper still made $350m domestic which for a war film is still great. WB made a very healthy profit on that film although I imagine Eastwood and Cooper did well out of it too.
  13. Bond was a real bad deal for Sony since most of the profit is going to MGM and EON. The product placement and marketing deal are pretty lucrative for Bond because most of the luxury brands like OMEGA, Tom Ford, Aston Martin etc will be willing to shell out or place their product in the film and marketing. I'll be curious to see if MGM and EON go to a different studio for the next Bond as I suspect whoever gets it will want a bigger cut of the profits or a smaller percentage of financing.
  14. I think £11-12m OW and it could go higher, I wouldn't be surprised if it ends breaking BvS OW which is the highest March opening in the UK. April will be interesting, I think Fast 8 five day opening will match Fast 7's OW but it'll have worse legs due to Guardians 2 which likely do at least double what the first film did on its OW. In May I can see Alien Covenant doing decently and Pirates will do well, not sure on OW but I think Disney would be happy with £7-8m OW, I'm not sure if it hit the same heights as the last three films. Wonder Woman I imagine if it hits the same numbers as MOS and SS, WB will be very happy, I'm surprised they're not opening midweek or Thursday to coincide with the half term but Warner Bros don't tend to do previews with a couple of exceptions. It's playing in 4DX which seems like an odd choice for a musical film, it can work well with kids film like Lego Batman but I imagine it'll only really pop out with Be Our Guest and the title song.
  15. I'll be curious to see how next March compares to this March in terms of OW. I imagine Wreck it Ralph 2 will see an increase OW wise say $65-70m maybe higher, The real wildcard is Ready Player One which I think will do $65-80m OW but it could go higher if WB really ramps up the hype and marketing.
  16. Jackman has picked mostly good roles both in film and in theatre but he's starred in a few stinkers. I'll be curious how he fares in The Greatest Showman, seems like a good role for him.
