  1. The Avengers should do very well, May's looking a little baren with only American Pie, Dark Shadows and The Dictator then MIB3, could see Avengers doing three weeks at number 1.
  2. Battleship has two weeks to itself before The Avengers so it should attract a decent gross. American Pie Reunion should do well when it comes out in May.
  3. Titanic seems to resonate more with UK audiences for some reason, those numbers are in line with what The Lion King did in October which for a rerelease is very good considering it's very long.
  4. The Pirates! had a very good week as did The Hunger Games. Mirror Mirror did well but that total is for seven days rather than three. 21 Jump Street's drops are just incredible, hopefully should do £8-9m by the end of its run.Titanic 3D did really well, could be number 1 again although it faces Battleship which opens Wednesday.
  5. 21JS is actually doing great considering it was number 2 against TDI and has had good drops.
  6. I think the UK performance is debut but I think Catching Fire will do much better.Unsurprising that The Pirates! is doing great. Should do £15-16m total.
  7. I imagine it must have been very close between The Pirates! and Wrath on the weekend, it was a bit odd to release Pirates! on the Wednesday but it'll have good legs throughout the Easter break. It'll be interesting how Battleship does, it looks very generic but it will appeal to the audience who want an action film and should do okay until Avengers is released.
  8. Streetdance 2 I never thought would do well but it bad for Wrath if it opened before THG and The Pirates! Next week is Titanic and Mirror Mirror which could do well, MM will probably be number 1 due to its Monday opening.
  9. Would have The Pirates! would have opened a bit higher but it still has Easter holidays, the weather is having an impact.
  10. Looks like Wrath is turning to be a bit of a flop, I wasn't expecting to do as well as CoTT but this is worse than expected result.I bet Sony is regretting pushing back The Pirates! I think it would done similar numbers to Mirror Mirror.
  11. I wouldn't be surprised if The Pirates! edges the win as it had a two day head start, it would embarrassing if Wrath is beaten by both The Pirates! and THG,
  12. A remake could potentially be a huge hit in America where the original would only have limited appeal, it's going to do $300m from OS alone and that's without the English Language countries like UK and Australia. I think it'll do $10-15m in the US, it still doesn't have a UK or Aus date yet.
  13. I went to it today and it was very good, it wasn't busy but kids haven't broken up yet.I wouldn't be surprised if The Pirates! edges Wrath but I think Wrath will beat it Friday but Pirates! will win Saturday and Sunday. £3.8m would be a terrible dropoff considering it made over £5m for the first film.
  14. The Pirates! should do very well, I think given the severe lack of kids competition, it may be able to match or beat Arthur Christmas' £20.5m total and that had more competition from Hugo, Puss in Boots, HF2 and Alvin. Wrath of the Titans should do decently but it's likely going to open lower than Clash of the Titans.
  15. 21 Jump Street had a good drop, The Devil Inside unsurprisenly dropped like a rock. TBEMH will end its run at £17-18m at this point and I'm guessing it's now made its money back from just the UK release.
  16. THG should have good holds over Easter although it may be dented slightly by WooT and Battleship, I agree Catching Fire should be big.
  17. I think it'll increase, it's got over a year for the fanbase to build up in the UK. Twilight did £2.2m while New Moon did £11.6m so it's possible Catching Fire will do over £10m.
  18. According to Deadline, THG did $7.5m which works out as £4.7m which is very good but pales in comparison to its US and Aus debut but it could get to £5m. I think it should have good legs, I expect Catching Fire will be huge when it released.Should be a busy weekend next week with The Pirates!, Wrath of the Titans and second week of The Hunger Games.
  19. I think most of the business will be this weekend, it wasn't advertised as starting on the Thursday and it was evening performances.I think The top five next week will be Pirates, Wrath of the Titans, Hunger Games, BEMH and Streetdance 2, The Pirates! has been really pushing the advertising whereas surprisenly Wrath hasn't had much apart from TV ads.
  20. I still think it'll explode OS when Catching Fire is released in November 2013. Think UK and Australia will be the biggest OS markets. It faces Wrath of the Titans next week then Battleship two weeks after, if WOM is good I think it can withstand both films especially Wrath which is coming off a not very well received first film.
  21. Streetdance 2 is going to get crushed by Wrath and Pirates! I wouldn't be surprised if it is only number 4 or 5.As for Hunger Games, a £5-6m OW including previews would be good, I don't expect it to do bigger numbers until Catching Fire in 2013. I think the fanbase needs to build up before we can expect the Potter/Twilight numbers.
  22. Twilight didn't take off until New Moon but the first film was fairly successful. I expect THG won't start doing huge numbers until Catching Fire, I'm expecting a £4-5m including previews.
  23. I can't believe WBAZ beat Contraband, it was barely advertised. 21 Jump Street I think will hold well against Hunger Games. Muppets will likely ends its run on £16m. TWIB is currently the highest grossng film of the year but it'll likely be beaten but for a low budget British film, its very good result.
  24. The Devil Inside will drop like a rock next week. I'm expecting The Hunger Games to open well, Contraband didn't do that well considering it was heavily marketed.
  25. Humour differs from country to country hence American comedies tend not to do as well OS with few exceptions.
