  1. BOTSAS success shows that Lionsgate made a huge mistake to split MJ in 2. I believe that it would've made near a billie if it stayed one movie cause hype for the series was so big. Even though it didn't have the main attraction - games - it was the conclusion so people would have shown up. Split took the wind out of its sails.
  2. Denis said that he saw Messiah as the conclusion of Paul's story which is correct. IMO, it was obvious from casting that they were going to adapt Messiah since 2 actors in question have much bigger role here than in DUNC Pt 1 and 2 Alia is in the movie cause one of trailers had a shot of Jessica with a baby in her arms. we just don't know if they are using a child actress or CGI creation that isn't ready for trailers.
  3. Fingers crossed. I want BOTSAS to make all the money it can. Thanks to 100M budget, it's already making small profit after passing the breakeven point. So lets go!
  4. never have I been so happy to be wrong. I thought BOSAS would flop before the trailer cause I didn't realise how big thirst for young Snow was. Than the trailer came out and was surprisingly excellent I was like this has a chance if Lionsgate plays its cards right. And they did! Great movie, very happy it's legging out.
  5. I see! Thanks guys! Also, movies that play to limited demo tend to get high scores casue they target specific one so easier to hit high marks which doesn't mean that a movie will play well outside of it. Like Aster lol.
  6. Heron, Lizard, Songbirds&Snakes, animals rule the boxoffice. 💪
  7. I never took CS as be all and end all. This got B+ but is playing so well across demos while some movies that played super well with one demo only and got A or A+ from it cratered when the demo got exhausted. Context is everything. That's why I'm cautious about arthouse movies in limited release with high CS too. Niche crowd that is ready to love a movie vs broad audience that goes WTF did I just watch? Happened with Aster.
  8. DUNC 2 doesn't have a crazy budget to be a bomb in the worst case scenario which would be making about as much as the first. Its disadvantage is that Russia is a non-factor now since that was DUNC's Top 3 OS market. But on the good side, there's no pandemic so it should see increases everywhere. There's no reason for it to drop from the first so I don't entertain that scenario. Dom is defo going up.
  9. DUNC Messiah is guaranteed. Villeneuve said a few days ago that the script was almost finished. Also, DUNC2 is gonna make more than DUNC.
  10. Looks incredible and also going hard for female audience. Romance. Hot Butler. Yeah, this is going to outgross the first one easily. I'm thinking somewhere around Spiderverse number but with OS/DOM flip.
  11. No idea. It could go either way but I don't think that romance was as big factor in success as it was Momoa's sex appeal alone. So as long as he is shirtless, it should be fine though drop is inevitable.
  12. I have no idea why they hate her character and her or if it has anything to do with defending that turd sandwich (not a hill anyone should have died on). All I know is that they hated that he was in that movie of all Marvel movies cause they hated the character and actress. Also, the site is mostly visited by Asian girls from many countries since K dramas and pop are huge around the world. So I can't say that all haters were specifically South Korean. But the movie tanked hard there as well as in China.
  13. Romance has many forms including unrequited love and that was a big theme of the movie. It was structured in the way that you wanted them to get together but understood why they couldn't since it wasn't real love. he thought he would only be validated as her boyfriend and she gave him his agency when she said he didn't need her to be valued hence Kenough. It's actually a really good love story.
  14. This is anecdotal but when Park Seo-joon was announced, I was surprised at vitriol on K drama sites such as Soompi, My Drama List and Koala's Playground aimed at CM and Brie larson. Girls were like, ugh why did he have to be in CM movie? I hate CM, hate Brie. Back then, Brie/CM hate was seen as exclusively male thing but K drama and K pop sites were an eye opener.
  15. this is a complete rejection because sales were abysmal well before reviews and reactions. There was no interest whatsoever but that interest is non-existent with women even though Marvel obviously thought this was their ultimate movie for women is actually hilarious. They should have known that since CM skewed male, adding 2 more women wasn't going to move the needle especially since women showed up in bigger audience share for Aquaman.
  16. Barbie was not hating on men. It's funny how misunderstood it remains in that regard but that's not what it did or intended to do. She Hulk, however, absolutely 100% did. well, that's how echo chamber is created that one day leads to a 250M costly bad decision. If fans cannot express their opinion how are studios going to know what doesn't work? If you can't say I wouldn't have seen CM had it not been promoted as crucial to understanding Avengers how are they going to know that perhaps the sequel isn't such a good idea cause the first movie didn't stand on its own? Or that the sequel would need a crossover with a really popular character(s) in order to succeed instead of 2 total unknowns? Etc. Oh well. They'll be fine, they have money from other stuff.
  17. It isn't like some people didn't see it coming but they were shut down with the usual sexist this sexist that labelling. Now that women absolutely rejected it no one can say it was incels and chuds who tanked it. When Barbie became a female-driven phenomenon, anyone could see that The Marvels was not going to fly with that audience cause it had nothing in common with Barbie. The Marvels is what Hollywood thinks women want but they don't - it's still debatable why Hollywood thinks that, is it a wrong information or an attempt to change female viewing habits - while Barbie is what they want. This was the miscalculation of the century.
  18. It doesn't fit in media narrative to admit how big of a failure it is, that's why. Nevertheless, the stench of flop already spread and no sugarcoating can stop the trainwreck. This isn't a poorly marketed amazing movie that audience will discover and revive with out of this world WOM and second weekend going up from the OW like Titanic and 0.7% drops after that for 15 consecutive weeks, etc etc. It's a mid movie at best, actually bad at worst that had nothing but apathy since its announcement and that completely miscalculated who it was for. There's no recovery from that.
  19. Just like Star Wars. They also forgot that women like movies with hot men hence Aquaman's Aqua Moms and higher audience share of women.
  20. Also, Spiderman 4 is gonna drop from NWH cause NWH was a once in a lifetime event. It'll revert to its regular boxoffice but if it dropped under Homecoming (880M) than yeah that would be a problem. But I don't see that happening.
