  1. I really hope ABY manages to fend off Mean Girls. It's such a great asurprise boxoffice that I don't want to be cut short.
  2. You are unironically right. That shit is never random or because they so sincerely liked some crap. It's like Cavill loving LOTR:TROP...because he got a fat contract with Amazon to mkae Warhammer 40000. One always has to wonder why this or that celeb goes out of nthe way to praise some trash and the answer is always paycheck.
  3. Can he be more melodramatic? "Sad reality" "victim" is this a war report?
  4. Good point about football lead-in but I don't think retention would be nearly that good if Barbenheimer wasn't nominated and yet another unwatched movie and director won. This time, it was superstar Nolan for his almost 1B hit. And RDJ's early win certainly didn't hurt. The host was literal who and his jokes were so bad he even said that during the overlong opening. THat's enough to deter anyone but enough people stick around cause they wanted. I may be projecting but I do think that popular movies and household name director so many are invested in did the trick. Your move, Oscars.
  5. The power of movies that people actually watched (Barbenheimer first of all but presence of current streaming superhit Saltburn's stars added a few younger ones too) and music stars (Taylor, Billie), but most of all the movie and director so many root for actually winning. Nolan fans turned up for NOlan and got rewarded. I bet ratigns kept going up the more awards Oppenheimer won cause it indicated that it was going to happen this time. And it did. His speech made so many tear up.
  6. Aquaman 2 WOM is better than expected given good holds. It's still a bomb but not an embarrassing one like The Marvels and The Flash. The collapse didn't happen and OS is carrying it nicely, TCP WOM clearly isn't all that great even among the demo. Another proof that CS isn't be all and end all. It flopped with BOSAS (B+, great legs), Aquaman 2 (B, better legs than ratings suggested) and this (A, terrible legs).

  8. You can see on their faces that they know. 😭
  9. bahahahahahah I knew Taylor showed up for nothing!
  10. He might win for a non bait. EEAAO was no bait and look what happened.
  11. Good point. Eilish won Barbie's first (unimportant) win.
  12. I wouldn't call Joker the wrong movie. It's an iconic peerformance. The Revenant however is the poster for makeup/wrong. Leo should have won for WOWS.
  13. Oppenheimer swept and now watch Globes give Drama Picture to something that isn't Oppenheimer. They do stupid shit like that but yeah it should be Oppenheimer like c'mon!
  14. Barbie shutout is actually hilarious. Give it a record number of noms and not a single (important) win (in case it wins the Song). Now that Emma won, no way Poor Things doesn't win Comedy. I hate that practice but it's always funny in a frustrating way. If anyone but Gladstone wins Drama, Emma will be locked.
  15. Me too. I know Margot was never going to win for Barbie so Emma it is. Both are unique performances, Emma even more so. Enough with historical figures and long suffering wives.
  16. Poeple all over the Internet are crying of happiness. AMPAS don't fuck this up! It's Nolan time.
  17. I'm fuckin crying OK? we were waiting for this for so long. Great speech.
  18. Pedro Pascal got the most audible reaction when his name was read. I wonder if Culkin will pull it off again with Emmys or if Strong will repeat.
  19. also great night for Bear though that was expected
