  1. Like BOSAS's B+. Didn't hurt. CS is unpredictable cause it really depends on OW rush audience rating that may defer from later audience's interest and reception.
  2. I hope so. I'm starting to think that The Marvels and A2 bombed cause The Rock cursed everyone who sold out to the Family. It would be fitting if A2 passed BA even if it still flopped.
  3. Agreed. they have pull with that audience so they are at least added value if not outright draws.
  4. I think that that romance being a streaming blockbuster also has something to do with Barry's bacon. But yes, Jacob definitely brought in Euphoria crowd that then discovered the said bacon and the rest is history. I hope that Wo Die Luege Hinfaellt's jump holds.
  5. Wonka also has the best PTA despite playing in the largest number of theaters. 4115 theaters for $5508 PTA vs for eg. Poor Things (800 theaters, $2818 PTA) or TCP (3203 theaters, $3664 PTA). I randomly picked one specialty (limited) release and one wide release to illustrate that Wonka is absolutely dominating even though it seems a bit underrated here. Also, for a flop, Aquaman 2 has the second best PTA ($4824) from 3787 theaters.
  6. They don't they are just getting ready for NYE parties. That's what people attend not movies.
  7. Good. Saltburn deserves to kill derivative trash like Rebel Moon.
  8. Yes, they said it was going to be a huge crowd pleaser like EEAAO. Same. Boxoffice-wise aka theatrical release not streaming coming to the rescue or toys or whatever, they are floppity flops.
  9. Fixed it for you. If a movie doesn't break even it's a flop. Whether it missed by a hair or by 100M, it's a flop. We can divide them into flops and megaflops but flop's a flop. Budgets are simply out of control since movies that made 500M+ are now flops.
  10. Poor Things PTA in 800 theaters is worse than some PTA's from 3000 theaters. It's obvious that only arthouse crowd is carrying that one. The more it expands the emptier the theaters save speciality ones in LA and NYC. Nothing against the movie and rooting for Emma's second win but festival critics acted like it was EEAAO 2.0 and it totally isn't unless I'm missing something.
  11. That will never stop being funny. Huge reason why the movie's floppage is still such a huge joke "couldn't even beat The Flash". Never set expectations high. Eternals, The Flash have only their unreasonable bosses to blame. OTOH, Anything But You set expectations low and now is the overperformer of the season.
  12. those 3 movies are more interesting to follow than pretentious movies from Krissy's list. Also congrats to Migration for having the highest PTA beating the crap out of pretentious platform releases.
  13. Low expectations can lead to "better than expected"/"pleasent surprise" WOM. Also, 2 hot stars that were heavily gossiped to have had a real life hookup during the filming. Exactly the kind of marketing romcoms need.
  14. true and that's boring. I like a situation like when Jumanji overtook Star Wars cause that was a surprise.
  15. Unironically, the most exciting thing in film world rn is Saltburn blowing up on streaming. Everyone is talking about it, don't know why the studio wasted it in the platform release that couldn't reach the right audience. They geared it to Poor Things crowd whereas the movie proved a hit with TikTok one.
  16. It will end an average run so that's boring. After all the "from breakout to flop" 3-4 day excitement, it's now shaping up to be an average performer. Even Aquaman 2, although an undisputed flop, is gonna make more than The Marvels despite tracking that put it below that one. I guess as some said in previous pages, people like Momoa enough so that's the movie's saving grace. We saw that when audience rejects something holidays don't help (see Thanksgiving).
  17. Unironically the most boring boxoffice in a long time. Nothing breaking out nor flopping super hard, eevrything doing average numbers. Fine runs are just fine, bad runs are bad but not abysmal. It's a very mediocre season showing that people won't show up in big numbers just because it's holidays.
  18. I actually like the ending and the twist that I also don't mind the lack of depth because the story is about shallow people save I think the only hinderance is that it was positioned as a prestige awards movie so some people expected that but if it was advertised as trashy fun which it is it would have been received better. Perhaps that's why it's blowing up on streaming. Expectations are lower so people are more receptive. Similar thing happened with trashy Gucci though that one was a pandemic hit in theaters too but really blew up on streaming, and The Last Duel (boxoffice flop, streaming sensation). Expectations make a difference.
  19. I think that they are crazy enough to get people talking and making TikTik vids of them but not crazy enough to turn people off. They are well balanced. Many crazier movies don't blow up precisely because they stepped into negative buzz. Saltburn's crazy is "I want to see that" it isn't "No thanks keep that shit away from me". I was surprised how much fun I had with this. Come to think of it, I'll revisit it soon. I think it'll have a great rewatch value. Big shout to Ewen Mitchell for disappearing into a role (small but effective) as always, an actor to watch for sure.
  20. Too many hot men biting into Tom Blyth's audience. Chalamet, Momoa, Powell, Boat Boys.
  21. YES! Still over 1M daily lets goooo!
  22. It's benefiting from being the only real old-fashioned romance/romcom and not some weirdness like Saltburn or Poor Things.
  23. This. WB waited too long with the sequel, there was Johnny and Amber scandal, endless rumors about poor quality and by the time of release SH trend faded so A2 poor boxoffice isn't on him. If anything, he may be saving it a little cause, as you say, people prefer to wacth stars they like even if a movie isn't all that.
  24. I googled Twister movie and got some movie from 2014 Into the Storm lol isn't that the same thing? It has a tornado (twister) on the poster:
