    A resounding YES! from me to that MZS guy. He brings up a great point. It's a problem beyond movies obviously. Everything, including most importantly the cost of living, has skyrocketed but not wages. It's a gigantic issue facing society going forward. It seems like soon we'll only have those who are rich and those who are just over/under the poverty line and living paycheque to paycheque.

    Really? I was thinking that Stuber would catch on pretty well. It actually looks hilarious! As for Crawl, I was hoping that would break out too because at least it's an original idea. However I could see it being a dud simply due to horror fatigue.

    It's good that Iger's pay raise didn't get approved. CEO's of huge companies do not need raises. They are already more than well compensated for the work they do. The wealth needs to be spread, not horded.

    Yeah I was actually just going to say in the Midsommar thread that I'm starting to feel a bit of a horror burnout, and I'm a mega horror fan.

    I'm as anti-elitism as anyone, but this movie isn't just for elitists. It's a genuine horror film nuanced than your typical teenage Friday night horror slasher like Happy Death Day or something (nothing against those either - I'm a horror fanatic so I go see almost all of them). There's nothing wrong with movies that don't just appeal to the lowest common denominator either.

    I see @mahnamahna is still bullish on the FSS for Spider-Man: Far From Home. It'll be interesting to see if it can beat the $108,966,307 OW of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, the current FSS record for a non Friday opener.

    I loved Mysterio like I thought I would, I just wish we got more of him in the suit in battle with Spidey. My favourite scene was their first encounter as foes, when Mysterio is totally messing around with Spidey. It felt so much like the comics or cartoons I grew up watching. Best scene for me personally in both the Holland Spider-Man movies. As I said before, he better be alive! I really really want me some Sinister Six!

    Mysterio better not be dead! I'd be pissed. I've been hoping that Sony/Marvel Studios is building up to the Sinister Six!

    So it sounds like, objectively (if you can even judge movies so), the film is good (ie. good direction, cinematography etc.). However, the material is definitely not for everyone. That's pretty much what I expected. These movies aren't crowd pleasers. Making the journey to the other end of town tomorrow to see it. I'll admit, I'm kinda nervous about how fucked up this is going to make me feel lol.

    This is playing in ONE small theatre in all of Calgary. Not even playing at Scotiabank Chinook, one of the busiest theatres in the nation! What the fuck??

    Yeah, pretty much. Now that Sony knows what they have in Jumanji, not surprising that they they got in ahead of Star Wars this year. Screams confidence.

    Yep, I got the discount. Just over $10 bucks to see Spider-Man in UltraAVX on opening day. That's a helluva deal!
