Why are critics giving honest reviews for this Disney remake? Is Dumbo part of Disney annual sacrifice offering or they are saving money for Disney+?

Reposting: 40.055k 2018-10-18 THU Halloween ($7.7m) 28.191k 2018-09-06 THU The Nun ($5.4m) 44.337k 2019-03-21 THU Us Both comparisons would lead US previews numbers close to $8.5m, but it depends on how many theaters they were played on thursday. I believe US had a lower number of theaters. $8m looks a good target. Extra 119.526k total sales for Captain Marvel on previews (including all formats) ($20.7m) That would mean $7.68m for US. Very curious if these comparisons mean something.

This is only wed sales. I'm sure Solo and Marvel movies had big sales the weeks before. Total sales would be a nice comparison. -

I share this feeling with you. Some members here keep forcing that horror movie can't make huge numbers like a SH movie when IT and Halloween (on OW at least) have proved the opposite. -

Are there any people really doubting that US will open close to or maybe more than $100m? Yes, there is hype and higher presales, but these presales are not from a Star Wars movie, guys. -

US need to be almost as presale-heavy as Star Wars movies to open with "only" $50m. -

Last industry tracking for A Quiet Place was $20m-30m OW. -

Solo. No doubts. From $2bi to under $400m and while Justice League opened close to industry OW tracking, Solo finished its run close to opening tracking. -

I see no reason to believe US will be more presales-heavy than Halloween. Also, Us will have Imax screens on OW. Halloween didn't. -

Will "US" take No. 1 spot two weekends in a row? It looks the perfect family event the following weekend. -

Presales for US are insane. Much higher than A Quiet Place. I'm seeing close to $80m OW. Could it reach $100m OW? -
Aren't they going to sell the rights internationally? Hulu and Disney+ is/will be in a very limited number of countries. Will they wait the foreigners to watch their products illegally to officially launch them? New Mutants has nothing to do with MCU, not only in tone, but in scale too (based on trailer and News). It is more likely that GA thinks Aquaman and Shazam! are MCU movies than New Mutants being a MCU movie.

Yes and no. Disney could get at least $40m selling New Mutants' rights worldwide. "seemingly poorly made" does mean the film can not make a good money? Netflix bought Cloverfield Paradox for more than $50m. If you think Disney is in a position it can to miss opportunities to increase revenue, even if it is not so big, you are a awful administrator.
