  1. Watching the movie is not enough. People here told me delays and reshoots means it is a disaster. I read from people who didn't watch the movie that it "is completed, but it is pretty bad" and "the movie is unsaveable" too....
  2. "Disney asked that future Spider-Man films be a 50/50 co-financing arrangement between the studios, and there were discussions that this might extend to other films in the Spider-Man universe." LMFAO
  3. Are you telling me that in order to prevent New Mutants from degrading the brand, Disney should release the unfinished movie on their widely appealing streaming service? Just like: Hey, guys, come see this unfinished movie on our big $ 6.99 streaming platform. ?
  4. Hmmm. Then... 1 - Disney should release the unfinished movie at Disney +, just like Disney + is some kind of movies' trash can Or 2 - Disney should burn the movie and ignore all the investment that Fox had in it, although even the incompetent Paramount wasn't so irresponsable like that when they got $40m for Cloverfield 3's sale. Hmmm
  5. Original filming was finished. If there's something more to finish is post production and it isn't so expensive for small movies.
  6. They don't need to spend as much as $25m on ads. Just turns it in a fandom event like Dragon Ball Brolly with some digital marketing and they can get return. Not true. According to Deadline, Fox spent $51m on P&A WW for Paper Towns, Universal spent $44m for Unfriended, Sony + Focus spent $44m for Insidious 3 and these movies had saturated releases. 7. Trailers show different logos to a Disney and a Fox movie. X-Men never showed up in MCU's team movies and even the tone is different. If GA thought X-Men was part of MCU, Dark Phoenix would have a way better box office, I suppose.
  8. Nobody goes to theaters to watch a dark horror movie from Fox expecting a typical happy and colourful Disney movie. Maybe I am underestimating GA's dumbness, but I believe NM will have zero effect in MCU and Disney's reputation to GA.
  9. I'm not sure what you are talking about. Disney had way more ""financial risks"" by releasing Stuber and The Art of Racing in The Rain in theaters than a New Mutants movie.
  10. According to deadline, Scary Stories cost north of $20m with P&A. "CBS Films typically is very thrifty and targeted in its P&A spend, especially for horror films. However, we hear they’ve spent plenty in this case on the PG-13 horror pic produced and co-written by Guillermo del Toro — significantly north of $20M. " The movie did $20m only in OW.
  11. You are kidding. Both movies had oscar buzz. Even Mama was helped by oscar because Jessica Chastain was coming from Zero Dark Thirty. No oscar buzz, no hit. Well, Scary Stories doesn't have oscar buzz, but I really really hope it isn't another disappointing bop of him.
  12. Every movie (no oscar buzz) fails commercially when it is sold by Del Toro's name. Can't see how this time will be different. If Scary Stories overperforms, I won't be surprised if budget is higher than it should be. I'm so tired of this deja vu. The guy deserves better.
  13. Easter. Some holdovers had decrease on saturday too: https://www.boxofficemojo.com/daily/chart/?sortdate=2017-04-15.htm
  14. Hobbs & Shaw is opening to No. 1 in 53 out of 63 territories with $90M abroad so far to date. $65m on friday?! 😲 So $180m+ OS OW? Edit: TalismanRing thinks they are couting Asian's saturday too.
  15. His ego is bigger than his talent. I think he needs to win a Teen Choice Award first.
  16. Here lies Warner's most profitable franchise. RIP. Warner is over. Next week Disney will buy them
  17. Lol at people burying TCU alive. Let's wait for thursday numbers. I was seeing $5m+ today at morning based on akvalley's fandango, but it has stopped updating 😢
  18. She is Kristen Stewart trying convince us movie is good. Don't worry, @Mexlouis aka Kristen Stewart, we are going to watch your movie
  19. People said there was no buzz. I wonder how much it would do if it had buzz. Breaking records?
  20. Fucking amazing. Walk-ins were way stronger than what I was thinking. $45m 5-day? First purge did $2.5m at previews.
