  1. Oh geeze. I’ve only seen the updated title so far, Time to find out just how much of a dumpster fire this thread has become.
  2. Just one $10 ticket away from perfect million magnitude niceness.
  3. If a certain movie releasing soon can get to 338+ it will be the 4th
  4. Wow, that is... not good. JWFK is leaning *really* hard on being a walk-up driven, which is a lot harder for sequels than first parts and for 2018 movies than 2015 movies.
  5. That would make his conmbined OW over the past two months below 380M. Talk about a disaster.
  6. On a last 25 years perspective, Cameron is indisputably on top. I was just taking a look at the more recent history state of affairs.
  7. I hope JW can be able to do 300+ still, but the possibility that the yearly top 5 is 5/5 superhero flicks can no longer be entirely discounted
  8. Sad to think that this thread is pretty useless for now. For a time it was Star Wars on top and people would talk Marvel vs DC -- but then Marvel vs DC became a joke, and it was Marvel vs Star Wars. Then Marvel vs Star Wars became clear cut as well, so it's just Marvel vs nobody, enjoying our sunsets at the top of the mountain. Hopefully blue people can prove a worthy foe come 2020.
  9. It’s pretty funny that these were in the same post, because they’re also extremely at odds with each other. I feel pretty safe sating that MCU won’t go below 1B and Disney won’t go below 2B in any year until/unless they completely collapse as movie studios. It’s because of inflation that this is a reasonable claim to make though — would not want to say the same thing using 2013 dollars. If those marks are missed, it will be the MCU one in a year where they release 3 lower tier movies for some 900+.
  10. With a pretty consistent 1B from Marvel Studios every year it will pretty hard for Disney to ever miss 2B again.
  11. “Animated films all look the same and have the same plot.”
  12. The point of I2 is that you neeed more than the typical Pixar target audience to show up to get the truly great numbers. If you donut expect TS4 to replicate that (which it won’t) then drawing conclusions about TS4 from I2 doesn’t make a whole lot of sense.
  13. Alright, we did the final push., and estimates said we got there. Guess it’s time to pull WiT out of theaters
  14. Top 5 November/December releases WW: 1. Avatar 2.79B 2. Titanic 2.19B* 3. Star Wars: The Force Awakens 2.07B 4. Star Wars: The Last Jedi 1.33B 5. Frozen 1.28B Top 5 non-Nov/Dec releases WW: 1. Avengers: Infinity War 2.05B 2. Jurassic World 1.67B 3. The Avenger's 1.52B 4. Furious 7 1.515B 5. Avengers: Age of Ultron 1.405B I was originally compiling for just December, but I wanted to include Frozen since its late November release led to a pattern where it really took advantage of long winter break legs in the same way as the other 4. Two thoughts: The overall top grossing movies are remarkably well balanced between these 2 months and the other 10 -- the lowest ranked movie on either list is just 12 overall. Jesus, the Avengers.
  15. Avengers has had a HUGE growth between every single entry in this market.
  16. Not saying it will definitely go below there, but it does not seems at all tough to imagine.
