  1. Who back in 2012 could’ve ever guessed that this thread would devolve into its current state? At this point, a trailer would practically be a godsend, just so there could finally be something else to talk about.
  2. I’m not even sure how serious Lucasfilm is about any of the Star Wars films that are supposed to be in development. Between Rogue Squadron, the Taika Waititi film and the Kevin Feige film, I don’t see any of them getting made.
  3. I’m not expecting much in terms of Star Wars announcements.
  4. Are you referring to that supposed report that a gang shooting happened while they were doing reshoots? If so, that story seems pretty fishy to me. For one, I don’t see why they would already be doing reshoots, when the movie finished filming less than a month ago.
  5. No? That’s a really baffling read on what I said, and I don’t know how anyone could come to that conclusion, unless they’re just a bad faith troll. All I said was that many of the actors in Hollywood who like to preach about their Christianity also seem to have some not so progressive views in certain areas. If you’re offended by me pointing that out, that’s on you.
  6. I think a general rule of thumb is that when an actor makes a big deal out of being a devout Christian (such as Chris Pratt and Letitia Wright), it’s an indication that they are likely to have certain controversial views. Chris Pratt, in particular, just recently went after “woke critics” who didn’t like his Amazon Prime show, which is, frankly, embarrassing. Anyway, those guys still aren’t on the same level as Ezra Miller, and as long as they avoid saying anything overtly stupid like Gina Carano did, they’ll probably be able to keep their jobs with Disney.
  7. Simu Liu got into a mild controversy for some posts he made on Reddit several years ago, although I think he might’ve addressed that stuff. As for Letitia Wright, I did hear that she was either liking or sharing tweets from transphobic people, although I’m not sure if the tweets themselves were transphobic. I suppose if we’re bringing up actor controversies, Evangeline Lilly did brag about attending an anti-vax rally that was held by a guy who compared vaccine mandates to the Holocaust, which people like Simu Liu actually called her out for. She’s also apparently a fan of Jordan Peterson. Honestly, if there’s one thing these past couple of years have taught me, it’s that there are more Hollywood actors with some fairly reactionary opinions than I assumed. Still, none of this stuff is on the same level as Ezra Miller’s baggage. Miller has very clear issues that need to be addressed, and there is no way they can continue playing the Flash.
  8. I would normally expect a decrease from the first movie, but it has Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn, so I don’t know.
  9. I mean, it was never going to make as much money as NWH, with or without Ezra Miller’s baggage, and I wouldn’t expect it to get an A+ from Cinemascore, but test audiences have supposedly been more into it than the test audiences for any other DCEU movie. It’s sounding like if it hadn’t been for Ezra Miller’s shenanigans, this movie might’ve been a clear winner for DC.
  10. Does A Star is Born even count as a musical in the traditional Broadway sense? It doesn’t really have musical numbers or set pieces. The main characters are singers who perform songs, but they don’t really break into song to convey how they feel like you see in a Disney movie.
  11. $150 million? I suppose that would explain why there’s such a big gap between filming and the release date. Sounds like they might actually be serious about doing big musical set pieces.
  12. I know it’s been popular to slam everything connected with WB and DC at this point (I myself have taken part in this), but are we really at the point where we’re sharing supposed “inside scoops” from random Twitter accounts?
  13. Armie Hammer’s scandal goes beyond a mere cannibalism kink. He’s also been accused of rape. Regardless, he wasn’t the lead of Death in the Nile, so it’s not exactly an apples to apples comparison.
  14. In all honesty, ever since the Iceland video, I had a bad feeling in the back of my head that some other troubling thing regarding Ezra Miller would come out that would potentially derail this movie, and frankly, WB should have realized that as well. At this point, their best bet is for Miller (or their mother) to open up about their problems, on top of seeking help, while staying out of the public eye. It’ll be awkward having to promote a major movie without their lead actor, but fortunately, with Michael Keaton, Ben Affleck and Michael Shannon all in this film, they can still have an angle to promote.
  15. I don’t know why we’re questioning whether a movie that passed $300 million domestically and over $700 million worldwide without China will manage to break even, especially when @lorddemaxus was joking.
  16. The idea that Henry Cavill is getting too old to play Superman doesn’t make much sense, when Jason Momoa is older than him by several years. Who says Superman can’t be in his 40s?
  17. The movie was announced for a theatrical release last December. That was before the Discovery merger went through. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-news/dcs-blue-beetle-release-date-1235064160/
  18. I’ve had my doubts about the Ta-Nehisi Coates project getting made even before the merger. It always came across as one of those examples of WB throwing ideas at the wall to see what would stick.
