  1. I believed at the time that Batman had run his course because of the failure of Snyder’s take on the character. Clearly, I was wrong on that count. Regardless, unlike Black Adam, Joker actually had some pretty successful trailers that got a lot of people talking about the movie, and I imagine that the over sensationalism from the media likely contributed to the film doing as well as it did. Call me crazy, but I don’t see a fairly generic looking superhero movie starring the Rock attracting the same kind of sensationalism that Joker managed to attract.
  2. I don’t know else to describe Dwayne Johnson. The entire reason we’re getting a Black Adam movie is because he didn’t want to play second banana to another superhero. He and WB are really desperate to make Black Adam happen, and I just don’t think it’s gonna work out. Maybe I’ll be wrong though, just like I was dead wrong about Joker, but I just don’t see the movie leaving much of an impression.
  3. I got that one wrong, but I did also make a NWH over BP domestic club last year, which everyone told me was crazy, but look how that turned out. I just don’t see any reason why BA would do well. No one outside of these forums is talking about it, the trailer failed to get any engagement and the movie doesn’t have any hook, other than an actor with an ego who’s had an inconsistent track record at the box office.
  4. Between Don't Worry Darling looking like a dud, and my sincere belief that Black Adam will flop, I wouldn’t be surprised if declaring bankruptcy is on the cards in the near future for WBD. If so, good riddance. Might as well burn it all to the ground.
  5. I’m not even talking about the Shia thing. That’s an entirely different can of worms. There just seemed to be plenty of tabloid news about her relationship with Styles that made it feel like it was the 1990s all over again.
  6. She comes across as one of those people who likes to preach about feminism when it specifically pertains to herself, but is otherwise indifferent to it.
  7. I never said Disney should be forced to re-release the movie. I’m saying that they’ve avoided re-releasing Song of the South for a reason. The Indiana Jones movies are problematic themselves for a number of reasons. I’m not even suggesting that Disney would want to lock them in a vault or something. I’m just saying that having them on Disney+ would strike me as awkward, since they haven’t aged particularly well in many regards.
  8. I mean, the media/tabloids seem to be destroying Wilde over her relationship with Styles, don’t they?
  9. Is there concrete evidence that Wilde was cheating on her husband? Their relationship ended a couple of months before she and Styles were publicly an item.
  10. Putting the first few Indiana Jones films on Disney+ would strike me as a bit awkward, what with the insensitive ethnic depictions and the white people in brownface. I’m not saying Disney should try to tamper with that stuff, but this is the same company that refuses to acknowledge the existence of Song of the South.
  11. I never bought the idea that Florence Pugh was creeped out by LaBeouf. To be perfectly blunt, she does not seem like the kind of person who gives a crap about working with creepy men.
  12. Shia LaBeouf is apparently hanging around at Venice Film Festival now. I can’t believe that guy’s gotten a redemption arc…
  13. Hasn’t it already been confirmed that Marvel has no plans on having John Krasinki play Reed Richards in the main universe? Why do people keep clinging to that bit of casting?
  14. The latter two movies didn’t get theatrical releases, so I don’t know if this is the best comparison.
  15. I think the people over a month ago who were going on about how this would be a heavily disliked film that would prove Jordan Peele is the new M. Night Shymalan were overexaggerating.
  16. You know what? Francis Ford Coppola did fund and defend Victor Salva, so in that sense, I suppose him hiring Shia LaBeouf for his passion project isn’t too surprising. He and Scorsese have a knack for giving a pass to people like this.
  17. It’s only a matter of time until Armie Hammer and James Franco get “rehabilitated” in the public eye, isn’t it?
  18. If that’s the case, I’m not sure why I’d be in the other group. I don’t recall making any especially outlandish predictions, like that it would cross a billion domestically.
  19. I’m guessing it’s pretty safe to assume that this black Superman movie won’t be happening, but assuming Cavill does back for real this time, I’m not sure how I’d feel about it at this point. A year ago, I would’ve been pretty excited about it, but all the drama with Ezra Miller and the Snyder Cut has sucked away any remaining enthusiasm I had for the DCEU, and the Discovery drama has made it difficult to get excited about anything related to DC in general. If Cavill does come back, would they be willing to give him a solo film? If so, how would it even work? Would Clark be back at the Daily Planet? Would Jesse Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor be involved? Would Clark and Lois be married?
  20. I never understood the praise for Keaton’s Batman. Mind you, I’ve never cared for Tim Burton’s filmography in general, but I just don’t see what appeal Keaton’s Batman has. He’s just a standard Tim Burton protagonist. I can’t really say he screams Batman to me. I was surprised back when it was announced that Keaton was coming back, but I was never particularly excited for it. As for Affleck, I think he had some untapped potential, but I feel like that ship has sailed. I don’t particularly care about the prospect of him returning full-time at this point. It would be interesting to peek into an alternate reality where he got to make that solo movie with Joe Manganiello, but that’s in the past. Also, I don’t know if the fact that we’re talking about Batman in a thread for Aquaman is depressing or humorous. It’s like DC still can’t shake the idea that they’re overly reliant on Batman.
  21. Looks like China is confirmed, unless someone involved with the movie says something that really pisses off the CCP.
  22. I never said anything regarding that. I was referring to the alleged feud between Wilde and Pugh.
  23. I wasn’t aware that she and Zach Braff broke up, but it should be pretty obvious I was talking about him. There’s also her support for a certain other actor, but that’s too much of a can of worms.
