  1. People have talked about how movie theaters have been struggling for the past several years. It’s not really a stretch to imagine that this pandemic could be the nail in the coffin.
  2. And to think, if they had stuck with the original release date, we wouldn’t be having this discussion...
  3. We already heard Ashley Eckstein’s voice in TRoS, so it’s gonna be a little weird not having her play Ahsoka in the flesh.
  4. The general argument is that these rich people need to do more to help those struggling because of this pandemic than singing a cover of a John Lennon song on social media. Granted, that is a fair point, but it is pretty silly that some dumb video of celebrities singing would spark Twitter outrage, but that’s just how the world works nowadays.
  5. If it’ll quickly be forgotten, is it even worth bringing up? People get “canceled” by Twitter everyday.
  6. Well, this movie does take place before Infinity War. Still, I’d have to assume there would be some kind of “present day” mid or end credit scene that’s supposed to set up a future movie or two.
  7. Unfortunately, the odds of it meeting its current release date are looking less likely now. Still, it would be pretty awesome if this ended up being the first real big release in two months.
  8. Bob Iger right now: https://getyarn.io/yarn-clip/4e229721-dd52-40ee-808c-bfe3655f8e29
  9. As much as I would hate for movie theaters to die out, things have not been looking reassuring these past couple of years.
  10. I have a feeling this will become the new norm. I think this might be the beginning of the end for movie theaters.
  11. If this movie does go straight to streaming, it seems more likely that it would be dumped onto Hulu. Still, I keep hearing rumors that the movie is contractually obligated to be released to theaters.

  13. Principal photography wrapped up in December 2018 and Patty Jenkins did claim last December that the movie was more or less finished.
  14. The unfortunate thing is that the decision to move this film out of December was done before the Star Wars franchise had taken a hit in popularity. All things considered, WW84 probably could’ve done just fine with its initial release date. Hell, the Jumanji sequel ended up taking that date, and it did pretty well for itself.
  15. But the Twitter account just suggested that this’ll get released in 84 days.
  16. WB must be pretty confident this whole thing will blow over by June. We’ll see.
  17. Jesus Christ. A movie that was filmed in 2017 might not even be released by the end of 2020...
  18. By the way, it’s interesting how BW wasn’t delayed as well. Maybe Disney figures that they can afford to take the risk with an MCU movie? Then again, we still have a month and a half to go.
  19. Is there seriously a contractual obligation that prevents them from just dumping this damn thing on Hulu? Can’t Disney override that or something?
  20. Forget about the end of the world depicted in these movies. I think we’re living in a real apocalypse right now. The Mayans were off by less than eight years.
  21. Why has this thread been bumped up? Has something changed about the movie’s figures?
  22. This is starting to sound like WB’s answer to Ralph Breaks the Internet, which is kind of lame. I can only hope that there’ll at least be more hand-biting humor in this case, since WB is generally less obsessed with maintaining a squeaky clean image compared to Disney.
