Jeez how limited is this release? Its only showing at arc light this weekend in all of the los angeles area. Which is not covered by moviepass and obviously not by AMC a*list. Im not going to pay to see it at arc light for $19. that theater is so expensive for no reason lol

Do i need to have seen the first one to watch this movie? I want to see it tonight but never watched the first one

I only checked a couple theaters but looks line the incredibles is getting the double feature treatment w/ ant-man. Not black panther.

My friend and I wanted to see the first purge tonight but the four amc’swe were willing to drive to we’re all sold out or near sold out(no seats next to each other) from 7-1045pm showtimes.

I just got a*list and its amazing lol reserving seats in advance and seeing movies in premium even once per month makes it worth it. Dolby/Imax in LA can be 25-30 dollars depending on the amc theater you go to

When do reviews come out for the first purge?

Antman isnt doing too well in presales. for the last three marvel movie preview night tickets by this time especially for premium showings were sold out or near sold out. This time around there are an abundance of seats left. I really wonder what this will make opening weekend. I think less than 100M.

I just started watching it this weekend. What a harrowing series. I dont know if its too extreme to know if this could happen in America, but it is similar to what Isis is essentially doing or was doing in parts of the middle east.(Forcing women to wear a certain clothes, treating them as just breeding machines, enslaving them, etc. in the name of religion) very scary, because there are a lot of religious zealots like betsy devos that are trying to indoctrinate kids in schools with religion.

Thats insane. I live in LA, so I guess thats why theres a ton near me. I always see headlines "AMC the biggest chain in the world," so I assumed they dominated most of the U.S, too. They did end up buying this small theater chain that is in LA and I believe there was one in SF. In LA it was called sunset cinemas. Not sure if that was the name for the theater they had in SF. So, it is a possibility they'll eventually buy out other small chains, too. They also bought a local laemmles location near me. They seem to be wanting to expand.

I didnt realize so many people wouldnt have an AMC near by. I thought there would be at least one AMC locally to people.

AMC has more leverage and they do this in the UK for some theater chain they own there. They have the data that backs up that this works. The plan will likely change and be more restrictive once moviepass and sinemia cease to exist, but by then the other theater chains will have reacted to AMC's plan, so it can't change too much. The only thing that moviepass is better in is that you can go to a wide variety of theaters. The AMC's near me dont really play indie movies. There are a lot of local indie theaters in LA though

How long do you guys think AMC will offer it for 19.95? I dont want to get it now, but maybe in a 1-3 months. But worried theyll change the pricing quickly. It seems the deal is doing well since the site and app has apparently been crashing all day.
