Wont BP get a dollar theater expansion? Also they could literally do an expansion for 1 weekend like Wonder woman got and get to 700M. If Disney was trying to "fudge" freaking AWIT then I doubt they wouldn't try to do it for BP that is only a little over 1M away.

When I went to see Solo on Tuesday the person collecting the movie the movie tickets wouldn't let these group of guys go into the theater to see deadpool without their IDs. So im assuming a lot of people might be purchasing tickets for other movies and going to see DP2 theaters seem to have gotten more strict.

I phrased what I said incorrectly. Im sure it will be a successful film. But like the OP said it will probably mostly appeal to kids and MCU fans. But older GA audience maybe not so much.

I wholeheartedly agree. Omg. Every time I see the trailer it comes off as one big gimmick. It might've worked for the first installment but who is actually excited to see that a second time?

You're right. I didnt predict it either. But its not shocking considering after the initial 24 hours pre-sales were so weak.

its funny because the writing was on the wall with the pre-sale numbers but people kept making excuses. It'll be strong with walk ups! its a family film! knowing that star wars is not the MCU and is the inverse of how those films operate. SW typically has strong pre-sales and weaker walk-ups. This movie exemplified that.

Its crazy the "family film" had a much worse 3 day opening weekend than deadpool. Deadpool will potentially beat it by 40M+
