    Is there REALY such a thing as a “kids movie”.

    In life when 911 happened there was no “target audience” to see the tragic event; whoever was brave to view it did, whoever wasn’t just simply didn’t.

    The Prince of Egypt proves three things: it proves the power of animation, it proves the power of musicals, and it proves how Jeffrey Katzenberg can really push an animation crew to exciting places.(despite most of the animation fandoms׳ disdain towards him).

    I suppose an auteur is one who wants to meet his specific vision from the big picture to the tiny details, animation allows for that goal more than any other medium.

    I wonder why more auteurs don’t do animation when you can literally micromanage every detail.

    It’s a really powerful song in its own right, but for me with in the context of a narrative “part of your world” is so strong in expressing what the character wants to the point that with out the song the film is not strong anymore.

    From my perspective animation is the greatest art form of all time, from the way it practically combines all the arts in one, or to how it’s the fullest art there is in the way you create all of life on screen.

    Not since tangled has animated characters expressed so much emotion.
