    I can see general audiences avoiding theaters until a vaccine is applied to a huge part of the population and by then people would prefer streaming services

    Same! And even tho i want to see Raya and Black Widow so bad! I think i will wait to rent it, if there is no vaccine by then.

    This is so true. MCU movies always get bad releases dates. Star wars and now avatar are the ones who get the good one in december.

    I think people will not go back to theaters until a year after we get a vaccine, and during that time, we will all subscribe to more streaming services instead of risking life in a theater. I can see no movies getting into a billion dollars for a while. Of course i could be wrong. But still i see lower attendance and repeat viewings, and even people avoiding opening weekends.

    Yup!! It really overperformed the first one in WW gross. Nowadays it seems that all sequels are grossing less than its predecessors. that being said, I wish it could have reached 500 Dom, but oh well.. c’est la vie.

    I think Disney is overconfident. they should delay Black Widow. There isnt so much competition in summer or during winter break. They can move Black Widow to summer or eternals’ weekend and then delay eternals to december.

    Also does anyone know if frozen 2 will be kept in theaters in japan, now that onward got delayed?

    You guys think (hypothetically) that if frozen 2 was meant to be released this march(same date as onward), but due to coronavirus it would have been delayed indefinitely. And, lets say, it opens in summer, would it have made 150M+ total or less?

    I am curious if the market will become more frontloaded and releases will be the same date as the rest of the world in the next years (deacades?) it seems that all markets are becoming more and more frontleaded these days.

    Onward cancelled its original release date in japan. Does anyone know which other movies cancelled its release date too?

    Maybe if frozen 3 takes place in spring/summer or something related (fire power villain?) it could be released during spring break or summer.

    And bc spies in desguise/cats underperformed and Star wars and Jumanji did ok. Had at least two of those films overperformed worldwide frozen would have lost so many screens and momentum.

    So many countries lost a little of money bc frozen had zero holidays till christmas and winter vacation.

    Does anyone know why pixar performs so bad overseas? only domestic and in Mexico seems to perform well. Yes maybe an original animated chinese film could make 1.5 Billion alone in ten years.

    Frozen 3 should have a better release date, especially if Disney wants the movie to be released at the same time worldwide. incredibles 3, I guess will not make 600 in the USA, probably 500, but it will increase overseas. the reason i think zootopia, bc the first ine made so much money in china. Obvs this is too early to predict

    Not counting the lion king remake, do you guys see any potential animated movie to pass frozen 2 at the box office? I can only see a zootopia sequel doing it. I cant think of another, cause i guess minions have caused fatigue worldwide.

    Tbh I was expecting 150M for frozen 2 in japan, but I feel ok with 120M+ For me its not sad. I understand that it had almost none holidays (before christmas and new year) not only in japan, but in so many places. This just shows the strenght of the brand worldwide. And to be fair, It had the advantage of an underperforming Star war sequel, a-not-so-huge performance of Jumanji (especially overseas) and Cats/Spies in desguise which both flopped. So it could have been worse if any of those movies overperformed and overshodowed Frozen.
