Another, A2's PTA went up from last weekend. They really need to give the movie one last round expansion like how they did for Pixar film before ending the run.

But neither WOM from earliest batch of audience are exactly glowing, 86% RT from 50+ verified audience score.

Without knowing this was actually a game-adaptation, I find the movie is very wonderful crowd-pleaser! Most comedy moment lands and serviceable and there were few cool, well directed sequences.

I miss the old-fashioned Disney-style of re-expansion toward the end of the run like what they did to Pixar movie over the summer. WW and JW received similar wide re-expansion too. I hope A2 can one before closing the run by digital release on Mar 28 make me less confident about this expansion release. And before people talk about cultural impact, the most cultural irrelevant movie just made $2.3bn.

Basically the last major milestone for A2.

This is the last weekend Avatar 2 stay within top 10 after 14 weeks, the PTA is so much higher than PIB2 and on par with other newer releases.

Mid-week numbers are already inflated by spring break.

After BP2, Antman 3 and now Shazam 2, Avatar 2 actually made pretty good number in China, especially when only Avatar 2 is subject to the Covid-19 hiccup.

After seeing the movie myself, Shazam 2 is definitely better than what face value of RT score suggest. I enjoy the movie very much, it is a super solid-good crowd pleaser.

No extension?? Wow, China Film Bureau really love James Cameron.

Depend how much DIsney wish to push. It is not like there are many PG-13 action flick now and Disney itself they have nothing new to offer in marketplace now too. They can very well capitalize the awareness generated from Oscar sole win.

So Avatar 2 could go back down to all time number 4?

Since Shazam 2 is the only wide release this weekend and it is not doing well, I expect every holdover to hold crazy strong in this semi-holiday weekend.

The VFX is awful ugly and half-baked.

These numbers remind me of the week leading up TSS disaster

The CGI look absolutely awful, they expect audience to accept the cash grab and crap after seeing what Avatar 2 can achieve with underwater VFX?

Another sign that other franchise is coming in to take over the Superhero genre fatigue. Pine and Jean Page could be a big magnet for women crowd.

Is EEAO the first sci-fi movie to win Oscar?

Hope the win keep the movie in public's awareness or interest for one more weeks before the competition wear down the run.

AVATAR 1 +2 combo is now > IW + EG.

Avatar 2 get more Oscar than a lot of supposed actual best Picture contender like Banshees and Tar.

Ok now I will see this movie in cinema now. I need to keep Paramount wining.

Is avatar wining VFX? That is the win I care the most.

But both A2 and PIB2 suffered their biggest theater count drop to-date.
