I don`t believe in TDKR noms, not with reviews that come with a reservation. Most of them are "best superhero movie ever" but they are not "best movie of the year so far" or bigger praise. So we are still largely within the genre in a race which favors non-genre movies. Especially sincePJ, who is AMPAS`s sci fi/fantasy Stephen Daldrey, also has his already awarded pony once again on the racetrack.

Anything is possible though the year is really crowded and Les Mis needs to be trully incredible and have all the cirtical precursor backing for him to pull the trick twice while facing really tough competition.Besides, they should ban movie/director split. How cna a movie be the best if director isn`t? or vice versa. They should be voted together but give individual award. So instead of Best Picture = list and Best Director = list, have Best Picture and its director = list so nobody can vote for movie #3 and director of the movie #2.

I doubt Hooper will win twice so soon. If movie does, than there will be a movie/director split. PTA or someone else wins BD and Les Mis movie.

Totally. Movies like SM and Disney shit are merchandise-driven and movies itself are really big promo reel for new toy lines. Even TA`s spectacular boxoffice is dwarfed by TA merchandise sales. WB will rake in billions from HP merchandise for years to come,etc.

I want this to do decent because Karl Urban is awesome and was 100% short-changed in LOTR (Eomer was much bigger player in the books) but has been doing much better than overexposed cast members since. Is he in Red 2? But I can`t help it that it looks shitty and cenamblend review was barely passable.

Sounds like shit. They are trying to like it because they want sequels and Urban is obivously good in it but it sounds like shit. I expect it to end up very rotten once trades that didn`t attend CC weigh in. But hopefully Urban keep the positive buzz so he gets better roles.

It has no reason to be either of the extremes. The movie`s OK so WOM can`t be bad or OMG amazing.This is such a funny run cause haters and loonies each have their day for celebration. TASM rises, loonies cheer. TASM overpredicted, drops hard, hater cheer. So much fun.

As much as I`d love TASM to beat Shriekapoo somewhere (OS, WW, both), didn`t OST post far more impressive OS numbers at the same time of its release? I mean, TASM numbers are good but I recall OST`s were whopping from the start and kept going.So I don`t see where $890 mio OS is coming from.

POTC 4 isn`t the highest grossing movie of the series WW. DMC is. OST is highest grossing OS but DMC is both dom and WW. WW difference is some $20 mio in DMC favor unadjusted of course.
