It IS an impressive result, just like twilight and potter. it's out there with the greats in terms of YA movie adaptations

But THG is acting like a franchise sequel, not a starter. just look at the week by week drops. if the next movie increases to something like 500M, then yes we can say THG result is mindblowing. twilight, potter helped this young adult madness. it made people aware of these YA books/adaptations

my god, what a boring mess. A bag full of emptiness. capitol full of caricature characters. they don't inspire fear, just laughter. how can anyone take them seriously? no stakes, i didn't care about either of the players. no emotional investment, no backround story to get us to care about these kids. lenny kravitz should never act again. jennifer L was okay, but i expected better. Josh hutcherson was the best thing about this movie. the combo of the capitol caricature with the supposed life threatening games simply didn't work. you know they are laughable, not life menacing. it takes you completely out of the movie. i treated them like a joke. this movie was garbage,pure kitsch please people, watch Battle Royale. It's an insult to that movie to be compared to this mess

It's a popcorn blockbuster, a crowd pleasing movie. easy to please the kids and appeal to adults. kinda like Pirates. at least that is what it's supposed to be.

There's nothing wrong with what Neo said. JC is the first big budget release of the year which targets all four quadrants. How is this comparable to Sucker Punch-a fanboy movie? The releases this year have targeted 1-2 potential target audiences. JC is supposedly for everybody, kids, male/female, adults who've read the books (there's some). The potential for JC to break out is big.....i mean it was big until they fucked up the marketing. i still hope...

Those are definitely the most irritating. You can't say a bad thing about THG cos they get mad very quickly.Even though i'm a JC supporter i don't mind Magic. Her movies do well enough for her age. She's only 26yo and she's headlining movies on her own. Even though they are not big hits, the studios see the potential. She's very talented imo and has great potential to improve and become a respected actress. I said she may become the new Meryl. And she was great in Mamma Mia. Very charming performance, But this forum thinks Kristen Stewart is a good actress. LMAO Can you imagine her pulling off Amanda's role in mamma mia? a joke...
