  1. But he's just not a leading man and I don't think he'll ever be one.
  2. Can Jeremy Renner make anything without a reliable co-lead though?
  3. Lol, it never even crossed my mind Kubo would be a girl. Maybe I've seen too many animes, lol.
  4. The real question is can it beat DM2? Looks likely right now, but again if Pete and Kubo are both bigger than expected than it might not happen.
  5. Huh? It just had a higher 4th weekend gross than IO's while also being 12m ahead of it through the same point. Seems like a lock to me. Pete would have to be unexpectedly massive and kill its late legs to miss. Pets is headed 375+ at its current pace.
  6. Yet another 200m budgeted film bombing this summer because no one knows how to budget blockbusters correctly these days apparently. When are the studios gonna learn? Again, none of y'all Inferior Five are Disney with hundreds of millions to blow, no matter how much you wish you were.
  7. Lmao at that Paramount slate, why even try?
  8. I wish MI5 could have had Bourne's opening last year. Just that extra 5m higher OW may have been enough to make it the highest grossing of the franchise.
  9. I was about to say hasn't she been out of work for awhile? But hilariously enough her IMDB page shows she's done a shitload of...well, shit in the last several years.
  10. We could actually end up with the entire top 15 over 100 after all in the game. 13 are locked now, and I'd say Pete has a pretty good shot. That leaves Bad Moms or Sausage Party to have to get there.
  11. Yeah, although it's hard to blame WOM this weekend when Bad Moms targeted the same main audience as GB was. I really hope it can salvage its run a bit with good late legs from here. Emphasizing the feminist crap in the marketing was just so dumb. It's a movie that I feel either gender of a wide age range can enjoy.
  12. Read the books by chance? Cause it's easily my favorite of them. But the movie took a giant dump all over the book. Abhorrent book to film treatment there.
  13. Lol, wasn't that a Christian based film though? Haven't seen either but I doubt it has much in common with Bad Moms.
  14. A truly brilliant year long marketing campaign primarily. Curiosity for Leto's Joker, the Joker was always going to be a huge draw on OW even if he's not well received. Lack of big summer hits among the teen/YA audience like Blanks said. Soundtrack already exploded over a month prior to release. All buzz and tracking indicators have been strong for months now, particularly impressive for a non-sequel CBM without a well known lead character. Suggests walk ups could be big. If it truly gets panned when the embargo lifts, maybe I'll lower my expectations. But until then, hello top 10 OW.
  15. And I don't think there's anyway it goes under 140, so I guess we're at odds here lol.
  16. Totally agree. The 13-25 audience is going to be out in droves next weekend for SS, and let's be honest that's still the audience that matters the most when we're talking blockbusters. A Civil War sized OW or possibly bigger is coming folks.
  17. Nope. Came out in the summer of few to no adult specific appealing blockbusters. And now it can't handle having to compete with one? It's just a boring 2 hour trudge that maybe could have made a decent hour long episode.
  18. And yet that's exactly what Beyond was, despite its budget. And if legs are awful as looks like may be the case, that's the reason why.
  19. Really good OD for Bourne. It was totally set up to be a 200+ hit, but then they had to go and make a lackluster movie on us. That's pretty horrid for Star Trek, unless it has a miraculously great Sat bump. Pets starting to show some killer legs, maybe looking at a 30% drop for the weekend. Would be crazy if it hit 400, but Pete and Kubo will probably kabosh any chance for that.
  20. So you're saying then she added 9m to the gross. Lol, ok sure I'll give you that if you want.
