  1. I haven't seen it in years to be fair, but the special effects totally blew me away back in the day. Basically the only reason I enjoyed it.
  2. The Day After Tomorrow and White House Down are really the only two I was entertained by, not that they're more than a 7/10 or anything. Godzilla is bad but still nowhere near IDR level of cinematic crime. A 6/10 meh to all his others.
  3. Only handed these out a few times ever to a mainstream movie, but here ya go IDR: F And ShouldIBeHere stated my review sentiments perfectly.
  4. I think that's true if it's not something the kid actively wants to see. It's summer and families are going to go see movies. There's really nothing else appealing out besides Dory, and plenty will have already seen that. I have a hard time buying that parents in hordes are going to reject a movie kids really wanna see. I mean the Pets marketing has been nowhere near as annoying as Minions, and parents got suckered into that one. Pets will be just fine, regardless of what mom and dad think about it.
  5. Are you aged 10 or under? Anyone who's been in a theater packed with kids when a Pets trailer plays should know the kind of reactions it gets from them. Been seeing it happen for a year now. There's no way it goes under 80m for OW.
  6. At the moment a very similar run to Minions looks likely to me for Pets, just with a little smaller OW and a little better multi. 101/310
  7. We'll see. The marketing has been a million times more effective at hooking kids than IO's ever was, so it will all depend on how much the adult w/o kids demo helped IO. Pets will slaughter IO on OW in terms of the family demo.
  8. Still think Pets is opening to 100 or close. We'll see how WOM is, but 300 should happen. Highly doubt it beats Zootopia.
  9. Tight races going on between Jungle Book/Deadpool and Civil War/IM3. Hallelujah for a whooping 5 sub 50% drops in the top ten this week.
  10. The 90's in general was such a mixed bag of awesome and awful when it comes to all things pop culture.
  11. Mrs Doubtfire deals with heavy topics and has a whole lot of sexual jokes/dialouge to be called a kid's film. Definitely not meant for under 8 or 9 at the very least. And I was too busy watching the classic 70's Charlotte's Web to be bothered with the mediocre Babe.
  12. I was just talking about the big hits of their year. Yeah, obviously I left Home Alone off the suck list for a reason (though it is overrated). Mrs. Doubtfire or Sister Act I wouldn't call kids films. And never did understand why anyone liked Free Willy or Babe, even when I was a kid.
  13. Right on track with TS3's bump for Dory. If Sunday follows that pattern it's headed to 74-76. IDR will either just make or just miss 40. Was hoping Shallows could pull an increase today, but at least it's a small increase over Friday proper.
  14. Now I totally get why I love animation so much, since my Mom had a very strict no PG-13 rule for me as a kid. So animation was the only place in the 90's I could really look towards for much quality apparently.
  15. Jumanji is the best of that bunch and I did like it as a kid. Casper is pretty bad though.
  16. The Flintstones, The Santa Claus, Hook, 101 Dalmatians, Casper, Jumanji, George of the Jungle, Flubber, Space, Jam, Doctor Doolittle, TMNT movies, Inspector Gadget...geez, thank goodness we 90's kids had the Renaissance and Pixar cause we had some absolute sheeeeeet for live action flicks.
  17. Blake Lively is definitely the type that will turn into an awards and critical darling if she starts getting offered and taking the right kind of roles.
  18. Bwahahaha, it's like 80 mins w/o credits. And furthermore it feels more like an hour to watch, so it's certainly not drawn out.
  19. I just think the multi would have been crazy without 3d forced on everyone. Maybe it still didn't go much higher in terms of money, but legs and admissions wise there would have been a huge difference.
  20. I would still give anything to see how a 2D pre-Avatar TS3 would have performed a year earlier. Admissions would have been huge.
