  1. Sorry, I still wouldn't call anything under 600 a juggernaut in today's age (especially since you have to take 3d inflation out). I reserve that title for the few films that are in that highest tier.
  2. Mmm, not quite in this day and age. As evidenced by the fact that we have 65 movies adjusted that have done it now. By "juggernaut" I meant like a top 30 all time run type of film (i.e. JW, TDK, Avengers, Avatar, TFA).
  3. It would be wild to see Pixar have their all time first run attendance record broken after this many years and so many big hits.
  4. I'm more interested in if it could beat Nemo's first run attendance, which would probably take around $530m (Nemo's first run is $483m).
  5. Dory's weekdays are just insane. If it were pulling weekend holds on that level we'd be looking at a true juggernaut. Still, 500 keeps looking more and more likely.
  6. Maybe so, but I still believe he's pissed that TFA beat Avatar DOM. It wouldn't at all be out of character for him (we all know he doesn't have a small ego), and the lack of any congratulatory response from him or his team for a new domestic champion was very telling.
  7. He minced words a bit, but just look at his reaction and expressions. He's clearly trying to skate around just flat out saying he wasn't a big fan. Not that hard to read. I also think it's comical he thinks the PT broke new ground visually. TPM had already been outdone in visual innovation be the much cheaper The Matrix in the same year. And AOTC and ROTS certainly weren't innovators.
  8. Praising the prequels and calling TFA out? Jim is either salty as fuck about TFA destroying Avatar DOM or falling into Lucas' delusional views on good film-making. Let's hope for the former.
  9. Are we really bringing up classics like that as a comparison point for this? Nothing about it indicates it would be remotely on the level of those. And if I'm wrong and it somehow is, then it will become a classic with time like most of those movies had to.
  10. Also I think adults are less likely to see a live action kids film because of the notion that live action is for adults and animation for kids/families. So they expect anything live action to not skew heavily kiddie, and reject it if it does.
  11. Because in general there is a huge disconnect between the quality of live action and animated kids films. The latter tend to be executed far better. Again, in general.
  12. So KFP3 and BVS are the only two that break the trend. Kinda funny that box office performance is even worse than reviews in the case of most movies that have been totally panned.
  13. What, I went up to 210 for IDR?? Wow, I legit have no memory of that, totally thought I left it at a 175 prediction. Not that it would've mattered really anyways. Bravo @laguy03 for being the only one in the game to even come close to nailing the DOM total for it.
  14. Honestly though, I am just in total awe of the "Hold the Door", "Battle of the Bastards", and " The Winds of Winter" episodes this season. All are far and away the top three in the series history and maybe even the top three eps on any show I've ever watched. I simply can't praise all the people involved in them enough. I'll also admit I never expected the true spark of my passion for the show to be re-lit after the bland season 5, I assumed that the show had peaked. So happy they stomped all over my preconceptions this year. I'm more hooked on this show now than ever before.
  15. For some reason the title totally gave me Cloud Atlas spinoff vibes, lol.
  16. Welp. Not surprising since it's Disney I guess, but it's pretty screwed with that budget unless it's a huge OS breakout. 90 seems about the best case scenario DOM right now.

  18. The Hound was clearly brought back for the sole purpose to kill off FrankenGregor, lol.
  19. Yes, it was clearly Dany and her army Cersei had started to lay out a plan as soon as they made her do her shame walk, and you can see she's gunning for revenge when Gregor carries her off in the season 5 finale. They were just smart to not show us her true plan this season so we get the big bang so to speak in this episode. But it certainly wasn't a reach they would have thought to use the wildfire to get rid of the High Sparrows, especially since Dr. Frankenstein there was already keen to it. As for her reaction to Tommen, she was already prepared for it. Once Myrcella died she consented to the fact that she would lose all her children like she was told by the fortune teller. At this point she's basically a cold, numb machine who just cares about making everyone else miserable like she is. Davos had every right to his reaction and it would have been way out of character for him to be any other way about it. He hated Melisandre all along and only partnered with her out of sheer desperation at the beginning of the season. Davos was absent when Shireen's burning happened, or we all know full well he would have NEVER stood for it. So I don't see how he's partly to blame. Jon was clearly disgusted to find out about it too, however also torn because he does know she's the reason he's alive in the first place. Hence why he offers her the option to flee instead of ordering her executed. Yeah, I get a really bad feeling about that as well. Her death could be the big soul crushing moment left to play that we all know this show loves so much.
  20. Season 4 might be a little better on the whole, only because there wasn't a "filler" type episode the whole season. But this season is right on its heels for me. 1,2, and 3 are all about the peaks and the valleys and lol let's not talk about 5.
  21. Dayuuuum, they are going in for that greatest show of all time title aren't they? What an immaculately crafted finale to possibly the best season yet. Sure there were a couple episodic lulls throughout, but this season truly floored me in quality on the whole. The setup for the end game is utterly flawless. I just hope they can deliver upon it now.
