  1. It is painful to think it will probably outgross all the Best Animated nominated movies besides IO of course.
  2. 35 4 day is good for TFA. I am shocked frankly at how light The Revenant will drop, even after the awards week it had. Can't believe the GA are going for it.
  3. Possible I guess, given Mara and Vikander are both such strong front-runners in that category we could get one of those vote splits leading to a dark horse contender win. Though Winslet would still probably be more likely.
  4. That's my point though. There is no clear frontrunner this year yet, so I am basically going with what I think the Academy will go for. Does that make it the frontrunner in reality? No, but I think it's basically as valid as what someone else's instincts are saying will win BP at this point. One thing about TBS and Spotlight is they are the only BP ones with a screenplay, acting, editing, and director nom. So I suppose both are good choices for a frontrunner at this point. The reason I'd still give TBS the edge would be because I don't think McCarthy has any chance to win director and McKay's direction definitely stood out and could gather a lot of fans. TBS also has a better shot at winning editing than Spotlight imo. I feel like if Spotlight wins BP, screenplay could be its only other win which would be very unusual.
  5. I would love to know why Spotlight keeps being brought up as clearly ahead though? You can essentially say Room or Brooklyn are all just as "clearly ahead" as Spotlight. All are small critically lauded flicks that have racked up a lot of nominations this awards season, but no real wins yet. I don't see why Spotlight would be strongly at the front, at least not yet.
  6. That could be so, though it's probably more a case of Schneider realizing no adult on earth is going to pay to see him in a starring role anymore, so now his only hope is to prey on poor innocent children.
  7. I'm fairly certain the power of Christ compels that name. Surprised you could type them so close to each other.
  8. Love the trailer, and it better be a sequel (at least loosely). Cloverfield had so much wasted potential, and the trailer already makes me think this could deliver on all of that.
  9. Well he went way overboard with hyping the c-section scene in Prometheus if I remember right, so we'll see what his idea of "going too far" this time is.
  10. A win for Ride Along 2 is a win for the superior extraterrestrial beings out there looking for justified reasons to invade.
  11. No need to get defensive. I never tried to tell you it is some foolproof method or that you should make predictions using it. I know how it works and I do account for when MT has led me to a way off the mark prediction, and I can tell you that is far less frequent than when it does provide a solid base for me to start from. So I find it to be a useful little tool, opposed to just relying on our own opinionated predictions. If you don't, just ignore it then.
  12. Maybe so, but MT gauging tends to work a lot better than even the old RS/MTC stuff to guesstimate. Again, except those times when it really doesn't.
  13. Even though this is (painfully) slow in many regards, I very much appreciated the more realistic take on love than we're typically treated to in movies. Usually great romances in film hinge on witty or involving dialouge and great chemistry between the stars, but in reality falling in love for many I think can be a lot more...well, boring, to put it bluntly. Sometimes it is just a wordless connection between two people, that sense that you found a person to be at ease with. This movie illustrated that brilliantly. So I don't know if I can ever sit through it again due to its trudging nature, but it is certainly a very well done portrayal.
  14. Below a 3.0 average rating on RT. THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THE VIRUS KNOWN AS ROB SCHNEIDER IS ALLOWED TO INFECT ANIMATION. KILL IT WITH FIRE!!!
  15. LS is no cinematic masterpiece, but it's one of the best war movies this decade at least.
  16. Just noticed 13 Hours' RT score. Damn, that's like Gravity level acclaim for a Bay film.
