  1. Good lord, just look at that cast at the top of the poster. If every single other aspect about this doesn't turn people off, that oughta at least do the trick.
  2. That's great that you like it so much, but one would actually have to be mentally challenged to lack the intelligence to understand The Revenant. Let's not pretend here it's too "complex" for some people.
  3. Yeah, probably behind only TBS and Fury Road of the BP contenders for me. Really sad it seems to have fallen out of contention and probably won't get nominated though. I'd take it over Spotlight any day.
  4. A mother and young son are held hostage in a tiny room, of which the son has never been out of. Wouldn't want to spoil anything else.
  5. Hmm, didn't get that at all. She had a dramatic role to play and I don't think she went overboard. But yes, Tremblay is phenomenal and even better. He should easily win supporting actor this year, but I have 0% faith he'll even get nominated.
  6. I love Saoirse as an actress but I can honestly say I don't get any of the Brooklyn hype, including her. It is a good movie in every aspect, nothing more and nothing less. Nothing outstanding about it. Larson runs circles around that performance.
  7. Back from the Revenant. Revenge may be a dish best served cold, but did they have to make such a cold movie? I appreciate the breadth of film-making on display, but damn did it lack heart. It's also like Leo's 10th best performance of his career, if even. Hope he wins just cause all the other snubs, but wouldn't be upset if he didn't now either.
  8. Haha, so true! I think The Departed is probably the last winner not many people bitched and moaned about winning.
  9. Yeah, love that part too. The Artist is a movie that thrives on the little things. It for sure doesn't hit you over the head with greatness, it's much more subtle about it.
  10. The Artist is the epitome of charming. It's also extremely simple, but uses that as an asset. In most years I wouldn't have been for it winning BP, but it had a pretty weak field that year so it didn't bother me.
  11. It would basically confirm he did something way back to really piss them off and they're just not gonna let it go.
  12. Still won't believe it until I see it. And I do think a Big Short sweep of the 6 noms it will get is entirely possible.
  13. I will still refuse to call 1b dead until we A: see what today's hold will be and B: see what the MLK weekend hold is. I'll never let g...oops, wrong movie.
  14. Well it's not exactly good for her combined with MJ2's underperformance. Luckily for her, she has two movies this year that are likely to be big hits regardless of her star power.
  15. The horror parts that were there were far more effective than most of the ones that go for way more though. Stuck with me.
  16. The Exorcism of Emily Rose is one of the only worthwhile ones to come out of the supernatural horror glut of the last decade. Along with Insidious and The Conjuring.
  17. Nope. Instead they are scrambling for the rights to The Revenant for the RCU. Fox got the last laugh after all.
